I’d rather try Kobe Beef at this place http://www.212steakhouse.com
Apparently it’s the only restaurant in New York allowed to serve it.

We did the Lion King show on Broadway. It was pretty good. I'm not much for musicals/theatre plays but I'm glad we did it. Ellen's Stardust Diner is an interesting place to eat. Close to Times Square. It's a diner but there are musicals happening while you eat, and they happen around you, not really on a stage. Link to website is posted below. Very interesting atmosphere there. Never been to a place like that before.

The one thing that Nobu lacks is consistency city to city. NY and Hong Kong were average, LA and Vegas were above average, while SFO and London were amazing.
Nobu and homestead both used to have Kobe and Wagyu. I never got a chance to try 212 before I moved.
You can walk in without a res to Masa? Wow, thats news to me. Great if its true!
Edit:
Someone mentioned Indian Accent which is in the Parker meridian I believe. Great Indian place and never gets a lot of hype. I'll second that place.
Since you are there in December try and check out all the windows on 5th as they'll all be done up for Christmas. The tree at Rock will be up.
I like Don Antonios for pizza that is close to you. They have a fried pizza which sounds disgusting but is amazing and hard to find most anywhere else.
