Can someone put a bit more detailed instructions adding-onto the instructions from the first link?

I got my outline and not sure what it means by make a body-base in a new layer?

This is my first time using photoshop!

I believe the base layer is like primer. Just fill in all colored parts on the car with one color (grey or white). Make those sections one color. You can later change the layer blending options to change how the highlite / neutral / dark layers appear.

At the end I think you can either make a new layer as color for the car, or just go the the base layer and change it's color as a whole.

Thanks. Also how can I do these things

    1) Say I have a white background and a black car outline. I want to erase all the pixels on the outline that is not pure black, all the gray ones.

    2) With the same situation as above, is there a tool or function to turn all the grey pixels to pure black and leaving the white background alone?

i dont really know what your saying in the first question, but for the second, i would try just saturating the outline all the way, there fore making it as dark as possible. as far as little gray pixels, i really dont think you can get rid of them. unless you some how vectorize it.
