When I was living in vegas, I was playing a $120 tourny and was prob 2-3hrs into it...

If anyone knows how I play I am super aggressive, and I ended up getting slowrolled preflop when i had like AJ vs KK

The guy was thinkin about it for like 4minutes and then he called I totally cracked his Kings and said thank you..

I was also 3handed in a tourny once and this asian dude slow rolled me with AA 3 handed when we already made a chop.. well semi slowroll i guess it only took like 20-30seconds to call...

I didnt win that one tho

The reaction from the English speaking commentators there is far more appropriate, though I am somewhat surprised at a commentator's use of the word retarded ("it's so retarded on so many levels..") around 5:58 -- kinda risky to use that expression if you're doing commentary, imo.

Not inappropriate given the circumstances. He called it as he saw it and the move was retarded.

This is not a bad beat, but still prob one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my life.. This is a $100headsup game, how can you be this retarded and be playing for $100?

oh ya I think you showed me that earlier. My best guess is that he thought he was playing razz with you? Maybe he had a bunch of razz ring games going on at the same time as the HU match with you? Or maybe it's just Santa Claus?

Here are some awful plays from a tournament I played last night...

I realized after being called on the flop that he probably had me outkicked -- was almost certain that he had AJ or AQ, so I slowed down on the turn, even as I hit top pair there. Thought for SURE that we were gonna split the pot when he shoved on the river -- then he turns up the following

Truly wretched play...limping with kings, NOT reraising when I bet out on the flop there, and then shoving on the river (trying to represent a nine there? Ya right...) One of those "three strikes, yer out" kinda hands.

A little bit later on, the poor play by RocoeP_Train might just have been topped here...

Sometimes I'd check to them on the river to give them a chance to bluff at the pot, but I didn't want to risk getting checked down (again) here, especially since I thought it was very obvious that I was chasing something on the flop (calling a bet on the flop, and then leading out and betting when the third spade hits on the river). So I bet out and he make a HORRIBLE shove -- no need to reraise all-in to try and take the pot away from me. I snaped called in half a second, thinking he had an 8 or something.

Only the second hand of heads up, and dperfeito was playing very, very aggressively. The worst part about this hand is that I had a feeling that I was beat (I was about 40% certain that I was beat by the turn card, thinking that he was holding AA). Something I've noticed from many aggressive players when they are out of position on the hand is that they will raise preflop, bet out on the flop, but check the turn if they made a big hand (flush or full house). When he suddenly checked the turn, that made me wonder if the ace there filled him up...

The huge blunder I made this hand is not listening to that instinct and raising (rather than just calling) the river. Given our stack sizes, I still had plenty of time to catch up. But once I raised him on the river there I essentially comitted myself to the hand there and there was no turning back.

Terrible play, the only justification for a possible scenario is a soul read LOL...thought if he hit he was good? Or 4thetrees is on tilt...

Crappy river for you though, unfortunate that he luck sucked you.

The 1st one, he would 3bet or 4bet me every time, thats why i stuck it in with the open ender, i thought my King high still might be good... LOL he didnt fold a single hand...

The second one, yah sick river card, however i ended up going 3-1 or 4-1 vs him for either $200 or $300 profit off of him so I'm not to worried

    Just some random hands...

I really hate it when this happens. You figure out exactly what your opponent had, make the laydown, and yeah..

If only I could accurately predict what the board cards will be. However, in this case I was accurate with the prediction on this hand. I was about 80% certain once the cards were turned up that the river card would be a nine. Didn't do me any good here though as all the money was already in the pot...

So I've been running pretty badly in the last 90days or so, breaking even/making only a bit of money, and then I play this guy...

It was a $100 4man HU (2 Rounds of HUs) and he was bitching at the first guy he played then he played me..

The 2nd game starts for both of us and he writes

    bohoney said, "deal?"
    Tcarnage said, "waht"
    bohoney said, "300 - 100 for loser"
    Tcarnage said, "LOL"
    Tcarnage said, "no"
    bohoney said, "200 ea"
    bohoney said, "u want 0"
    Tcarnage said, "yes"
So the kid starts to make fun of me for the duration of the match

    bohoney said, "ur a joke"
    Tcarnage said, "I love you"
Tcarnage said, "Wanna make babies with me?"
    bohoney said, "all luck"
    Tcarnage said, "of course"

    bohoney said, "no thanks foreigner"

    Tcarnage said, "foreigner?"

    bohoney said, "canada"
    Tcarnage said, "LOL"
bohoney said, "usa all the way"
Tcarnage said, "as far as I know.. online gambling is banned in the USA"
    bohoney said, "own the world"

All is well and I try to make this big play for half my stack.. (It is very questionable looking back at it now, but he was just so bad)

I've been on a sick downswing in the $100 headsup games lately, and running hot in the $50s (obv this doesn't work 2 well) so It felt so great to run so good vs this 1 douche bag!!

Really wanted to post this, as it made my month and I want to look back at it in a few weeks and smile about it

I love those exchanges . Here's one I had recently from somebody who clearly doesn't know how or when to bluff

He then busted out, ending our discussion prematurely.

Not quite sure what this guy was thinking here with his river bet -- maybe he forgot about the all-in guy in the pot? Or maybe he just really, really wanted the whopping 154 chips in the side pot?

I guess since this is the bad beat thread -- not too bad, but it's more for the "what might have been..." This one was very painful because I'm sure I would have won this tournament if my hand held on the turn here (winning this pot would have launched me into first in chips with 2 tables left...). Had to settle for 5th... Even though I was unsure of what he had I just KNEW this guy was going to shove after I bet out on the turn, so I was clicking like a madman on the bottom right hand corner of this open window to call his all-in reraise as fast as possible (I really, really wanted to snap call this guy since I was holding the nuts). Then came the river...

Anyone ever get in on the bad beat jackpots? I don't know if all poker sites have them, but I've seen it grow really high at Party Poker quite often. Some of them were reaching around 200,000.

In the tens of thousands of poker hands I've played online in the past five years, I've never had a Hold em hand that would meet the stringent "bad beat jackpot" criteria on most websites (lose with quads or better while using BOTH your hole cards). I've lost with quad eights to a jack-high straight flush, but that was using only one hole card (I had 6-8 and there were three eights on the board). I don't think I've ever seen another person at a table I've been at lose under the same conditions, but I multi-table a great deal now and I don't catch every hand (although I'm sure the chat would explode if such a beat did occur, so I'd likely notice).

I almost think I'd have a better chance at winning the jackpot on a slot machine at the Elbow River casino than I would at winning a bad beat jackpot playing poker online.
