    Default Central air conditioning sizing

    Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone would like to post their a/c unit tonnage along with the sqft, type, age of house. What brand did you go with and install price would be nice too. It seems people in Calgary seem to install larger units than in Ontario from searches. I would assume Ontario is at least the same if not hotter and more humid than here during summers.

I have a 2300 sqft newer walkout 2 story and a couple contractors have walked in, looked at the max size the furnace can handle (4 ton) then suggest that size...3.5 seems more than enough, heck even 3.

    Thanks

sqft/600 = tonnage, general rule of thumb for residential, so you need a 4 ton machine.
