Once the holidays are over I'll try and get my money back. I called Coleman, and they said that only Coleman can cancel or deny me warranty. According to the lady I spoke with, my situation would not justify cancellation. That plus`they left me in this state makes me hate them more and more.

I think it may be because of the restrictor in the inducer. It started happening after the tech replaced that. There actually isnt a grate on my intake. Is that normal?

Thanks again for all the help!

Could be normal. Your description of your furnace sounds like mine. Essentially the burner assembly is open in the upper cabinet, when the door is closed and sealed the whole upper cabinet essentially becomes the intake plenum.

It is strange it will operate properly with the door off, that does suggest strongly a lack of combustion air or something wrong with the inducer.

If it was a flame sensor issue the installation of the door shouldn't matter.

It it was an igniter issue the door wouldn't matter.

If it was related to circulating air the door wouldn't matter.

It's possible the tech installed something improperly in regards to the inducer, or miswired something.

    Thanks rx7!

Taking apart the inducer is a little too much for me to do. I'll wait for my tech to get back and let him know!

So, I finally got my furnace fixed! (It's been over a month).

Turns out that the original company that replaced my inducer didn't put the appropriate restrictor in it. Who knew that too much air would have almost the same symptoms as not enough air!

Apparently it was sucking out so much air that it took the gas with it (before it could ignite) causing the "no flame sensed error". On top of that, the original company turned up the gas flow so much (so that it would ignite with the door off) that it was also causing an overheat.

Now I kinda have a legal question:

    1) They (original company) made me replace my blower because of overheating. Blower tests fine and the overheat was because they increased the gas flow (approx. $800), not because the blower was bad.
    2) It cost me another $300 to another company to correct this issue.

Think it would be reasonable for me to ask for my money back?

Yeah I would try nothing to lose, they never did fix it right in the first place.

Yes. Not sure how successful you'll be in receiving a refund though.

    Glad it got sorted.

Reliant Comfort Systems. They charge 1 hour for diagnosis (regardless of how long it takes).

In my case, he was there for about 3 hours.
