The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. What owner in his right mind would do that thinking it was a good idea?

I would think that when the car is being detailed it'd be pretty obvious. However, the impression I got from them was that they disclosed things... when asked the right questions. You know?

Yea I can't say for sure after I traded it into them.. it ran smooth as butter, quite with no ticking or knocking and never once had an engine or turbo issue in the 116,021kms and zero check engine lights.

The ONLY 2 issues the car ever had was the tranny was replaced at 24,000km due to a leak and they apparently just replace the entire unit (or did back in 2010) and the AWD pump which never caused me any more issues after they did some re-flash on it (after putting in the new one). Never went through any oil at all between oil changes even on long day after day highway driving road trips where most cars will go through some oil. It was a very reliable car.

It also saw very limited winters as I was living in Florida. I think in total it went through maybe 2 full winters here. The rest it spent traveling the likes of Key west, Miami, Fort Myers, Texas, all over California, ect.

Just a few snipits of where this Evo spent a lot of its time.

Drive Thru Tree - Leggett, CA

Key West / 90miles to Cuba

    St. Louis

    Disney World

Sketchy area in New Orleans (Damn NAV trying to get me killed)

Pacific Coast Highway - I had a smile on my face from ear to ear on this highway in the Evo as it was like a road course with no one on it... HOURS of hair pin banked turns...

Then he keeps saying "situation" left and right in the conversation. Like is it really a situation here when I want to finance the car and not buy it straight out when I can do better things with the rest of the money? /rant

The whole place had a palpable sense of hostility, and I remember thinking "man, I'd hate to be a customer here." Well that, and the numerous threads on beyond, including the big one with little Normie.

I could not agree with you more!!! David Baker has to be one of the biggest assholes I've ever met in any business. Ask any industry insider that knows him, and you will not find anyone that has anything nice to say about him. The same goes for his pimple faced immature douche bag son Norman. The only time you know for certain he's not lieing to you is when he's not talking.

Just goes to show you, the apple really does never fall from the tree. I can't believe that these scum bag's are still in business.

So are they actually the same dealership as SDS (i.e., run by david baker and son)? Or are they a new dealership with new management operating in the same building as the old SDS dealership? They have a car I'm interested in but if they are indeed the same people who ran SDS, looks like i'll stay far away.

Has anyone actually dealt with them or know of anyone who dealt with them?

EDIT: answered my own question. Googled them up and looked at the contact info.

David and Norman Baker. Damn, it was such a good price on the car too

BUMP. It hasn't been too long since this thread died, but I'm assuming everything is still the same with them? Same story, really good price on a car I'm interested in.

Why do they have such good prices on cars is what I'm wondering...

Because that car just sold this morning. They have a very similar car with twice the kilometers and 1/2 the options for the same price they can show you though!

But yes, still owned by the Bakers.

Lol no sarcasm at all. Thanks, I figured that might be the case anyways, I saw it happen a lot when looking at kijiji ads.
