    It comes almost loaded so I don't think it is too bad now after helping my mom buy a small suv with loaded little suvs being $40k+ and mid range options being this price. Still wish it had the 2.0T

    Yes it takes regular. Even the 2.0T in the GTI takes regular and drives just fine on it.

    Neat, had no idea that had changed. I would still run premium anyways I suppose on these.

    My 2016 GTI says 87 on the gas door. I've been running 87 since new and the car has been fine. I also do oil changes every 15000 km.
