    Default BS Speeding Ticket

Usally i don't have to bitch and complain about stuff but this was something that just pissed me off tonight.

Few hours ago i was driving on mcknight where i saw a undercover police suv beside me. I slowed down and when he saw me slow down he hit his brakes so he could look at us. After that we just kept on driving. Down onto deerfoot, beddington.

As we were driving he was in front of me the entire time (mcknight, deerfoot, beddington) as an exit came up to exit off of beddington he switched lanes but he did not exit. He waited for me to pass and threw on his lights. When he came up to me he said he was going 82 and i was catching up to him and said i was going 105. I was a little bit confused because i knew he was there so i was following speed limit.

At the end i got a speeding ticket for going 105 in a 80 and have to pay $150.00.

How did he figure out my speed of 105 if i was driving behind him the entire time? I will be fighting this ticket because i think it was a bs ticket and he was just giving us a ticket because he could.

Hmmm....thats interesting....as far as i know laser needs to be stationary to be accurate? or do they account for the speed they are going? im not sure. I think hes full of shit, fight it, put him on the stand, ask him how he clocked your speed, and if it was calibrated....blah blah. I bet he doesnt show to court, or offers you a deal.

take him to court, make the judge give him a ticket for going 2 over the speed limit, then accept yours.

cops have the stalker dsr 2x radar. it can target two lanes in front of them, and behind them.

Fight it, especially since you were behind him that long, why would you speed, sounds like quota to me.

Haha maybe i asked him how did he know how fast i was going. He said i was going 82 and you were gaining on me. WTF! I was gaining on him because he was slowing down to pull me over.

I even told him i saw him on McKnight haha and he was like "oh ok".

So he writes on the ticket that he used laser or radar, but yet when you questioned him, he said he based it on his own speed?

    Sounds fishy...

When I went to Edmonton 3 weeks back, there was a police Charger going the same way. He was going about 20k over the speed limit, so I decided to tuck myself in behind him. Figured that the only way he would be able to say I was speeding is if he admitted he was himself. We had to pull off so my girl could take a piss, but I would have been happy to follow him at that speed all the way to Edmonton!

Back to your issue - fight it man. At least I can see ammo for you...

I saw that cop at mcknight and ed trail

they were doing the 70>50 cash grab musta been frustrated to pull something like that...

I've had a friend caught leaving mcknight onto deerfoot similar to how you were caught, but he had the ticket reduced 20kph, not inflated lol

Also he didn't take my Registration or Insurance. When he came up to the window all he took was my license.

Aren't cops allowed to speed anyways?

Nope, the cop car can be moving. That's how they tag you on the highway (coming or going).

It still sounds like a BS deal though. Good luck with getting it tossed.

    Stationary only if using Laser.

Why would cops be allowed to speed without their emergency lights on?

Sure they are (or at least do), if they are responding to a situation and don't want to alert everyone to their arrival...

Of course, this is an entirely different situation.
