3000 grit and a polish, whatever that doesn't remove use poorboys black hole glaze to hide the rest, you'll just have to keep reapplying it with a wax/sealant overtop.
man, saving that for a while weren't you? Bitter?Originally posted by jwslam

It's not a warranty issue, but if it were mine, I'd be tempted to post to Ford Social Media about being disappointed in their "Built Ford Tough", "Military Grade" truck not being able to withstand the impact of an eggshell. Might get some attention, and maybe a re-clear on the panel.Originally posted by ercchry
With the shitty paint on fords, between random eggings and rock chips, this would bankrupt the company
It's a long shot, but maybe they mixed a bad batch of clear that is super soft. I remember one of my first paint jobs when I was 18, I forgot to add hardener because I might have had a few beers, and the paint took months to properly cure. In the meantime, any minor chips took a gouge like shown in the pics
Use 3000 grit sandpaper and 5000 grit sandpaper. Wet sand it and meguiars scratch x
Make sure you go little high when wet sanding so you can blend it in to the surrounding paint. Than use meguiars scratch x and after that use paste wax.

Why would ford fix it? It was vandalism.Originally posted by carson blocks

I have known a few vehicles that have gotten egged and all of them have had similar damage from it.

It's definitely not a warranty issue, no warranty covers vandalism of any kind. It's the chemistry of the egg that does the damage unfortunately, not the impact.Originally posted by carson blocks

Spending a few hundred on a proper paint coating may not be a bad idea going forward - they do not react to acids. The damage from something like an egg would either be non-existent or heavily mitigated.

Why would ford fix it? It was vandalism. The very first thing I said was "It's not a warranty issue"! Obviously warranty doesn't cover vandalism. I didn't know it was the chemistry of the egg that did it. The pattern looked to me like gouges from the shell, which would make the clear way too soft. Modern paint must be pretty shitty overall, I know the painted front bumper of my '16 Ram after 1 year/40k of commuting looks like older trucks did after 5-10yrs/100-200k.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt
