I bought a battery from CT when I bought my truck. It had been sitting for a while so the battery died. Threw in the new one from CT and it fired up and I still have the battery. That was october 2010 and it still runs fine.

Koenigsegg, what started as a dream just blew your doors off.
I think it's basically hit & miss with Moto Master Batteries.. I've got 3 bad ones over the course of 6 years, Warranty was never a issue though. Eventually I got fed up an started using OEM Batteries.
It is frustratingly reliable, truly the cockroach of automobiles.
Most batteries under 1 year test above their CCA ratings lol. I test batteries every day and can say you were fed bullshit.
I only buy interstate personally. I've seen interstates score above their rated CCA after 2-3 years and a proper test without surface charge
lol I guess maybe I haven't waited long enough haha. Although the battery it replaced was an identical AGM that lasted from 2001 until now, it didn't fail either, I replaced it preemptively because I got a heck of a deal on the new battery.Originally posted by bspot
Any battery that is still working after 4 months of use in the summer MUST be good

Bump 6 year old thread?
I go to East Penn/Deka for all my batteries. They're out by the airport. Bought an AGM battery for the Miata in May and has worked like a charm for the past few months.
I just replaced mine, great batt so far.
I have got a motormaster battery and an eliminator battery on my two cars. Both batteries are over 5 years old and still working.

Thanks for the 14 years of LOLs. Govern yourselves accordingly and avoid uppercut reactions!
Ive had a few craptastic tire batteries, and they've lasted well over 5 years in some cases, with none of the problems listed.
Their not my first choice, but not my last either.

Ran a CT battery in my E46 - 5 years, no probs. Would I buy another one? Prolly. Also ran an interstate battery in my old RX for close to 5 years. That battery was S-O-L-I-D, would buy again for sure.
Worst battery I've had? AC Delco. 3 years, dead...two separate occasions.

It was for the second gen, the NB, same battery though IIRC. The AGM's are awesome. The cars come with Panasonic AGM's over from Japan. These have been known to last over 12 years with no service whatsoever. However, if you go get a replacement battery from the dealer it's a standard wet cell as the AGM's cost a pretty penny to ship over. East Penn/Deka manufacture an AGM identical to the Panasonic one, the model number is 8AMU1R, it's gotten solid reviews on M.net.Originally posted by sidewaysD

I have a motomaster battery in my van, I was looking around under the hood last night and noticed that the recess around the top cap on each side of the battery is soaking wet and water appears to be running down the side of the battery. I thought at first this was just condensation but I think it's actually battery acid coming out as I can hear it bubbling/squealing after I drive the van.Originally posted by Rat Fink
I've seen way too many Motomaster batteries leak acid all over the place which can really suck depending on what components are near it. I just stick with OEM batteries from the dealer. With any batter I run, I expect to replace it every few years and never have corrosion issues and never get stranded.
Battery is only 3 years old, perhaps I should just replace it before something rots though.

Where does one buy Interstate batteries?
The OEM battery in the Civic doesn't seem overly eager to turn over the motor in the winter.
I wish I could remember what I had in my S4's. Those cars turned over like it was a hot summer day after all night in -30 no problem.
You can buy them at the Mr. Lube's, I think part source may carry them too. Mine came with my RX from the previous owner, was in there for a year before the suv from him. So it was about 6 years old when I sold the RX. I used to let the RX sit for weeks on end during summer as I had a summer vehicle. Then when I needed to drive her, got in and it fired right up. Never had any probs starting the cold and never had to boost her, ever. So for me the battery was solid.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

+1 for Interstate, you can buy them directly from them from their location. Get the Megatron Plus series. They get used on all the aircraft service equipment and vehicles at my work and they do pretty damn well through the extreme temps they get put through.
Yep picked up the Mega Tron Plus for my car. That thing is massive!!!
Interstate Batteries Rock. Also confirmed that Napa/Aut Value carries them

Just a heads up, like anything the cheaper the product the shittier the end result typically.
I have ONLY ever bought the "high-end" Elminator batteries from CT and have NEVER had a problem of any kind.
I have ALSO insisted that I do the initial charge (most critical) at home on a trickle charger as it can significantly add life and keep CCAs up years down the road.
