FINALLY the build is ready to begin! Just picked up my new longblock from Kyle Puckett (famed Z32 engine builder) and hope to have car on the road with the new setup by the end of the year.

Started working on the engine a bit more. Installed the cams and oil pan along with a few other misc items. Getting ready to order a pair of GT2860RS's to hang off of this thing and see what kinda power she puts down.
Stay tuned...

Did a "baseline" for before and after results.
BEFORE:
137K miles
well under 80psi per cylinder (stock is 178)
oil leaks from hell
running 9:1 AFR under load
won't idle smoothly
coolant leak after coolant leak...
12psi boost pressure
265 RWHP and 280 RWTQ on a Mustang AWD dyno
AFTER:
0K miles
right around 190psi per cylinder (stock is 178)
no oil leaks
running 11.5:1 AFR under load
will idle smoothly
no coolant leaks
15psi boost pressure for 91 / 25+ for C16
LOTS RWHP and TONS RWTQ on a Mustang AWD dyno
Making some steady progress on the manifolds (intake and exhaust). Still a long way to go...
Throttle bodies welded up to their flanges.
Lower section of plenum.
3" aluminum tubing slit and angle cut to form the plenum.
Taped in place for now. The lower section will be cut 1" shorter to allow the plenums to be level.
Tentative placement for turbos.
Vids taken 5/1/07
Still running strong on the old 137K mile engine from 1990... it will be a HUGE change after the new engine/turbos package is installed.

The sad end to my favorite car of all time. I'll get another someday...
After 1 year and 327 days I am now a 300ZX owner again!!!!!
I noticed there were a lot of dead links. They have been fixed.
Rob
The multi-colored hardtop Z is now destined for track duty.
Here is my new 1990 Super White 300ZX Twin Turbo! Purchased July 16th 2011, it is already becoming a nice tribute to the old Z.
I will be recreating my previous Twin Turbo Z as closely as possible with a few improvements here and there. I searched off and on for the last 3.5 years to find a car that was worthy (clean enough) and priced right to start my new build. I finally found the car and it was in town! This car looked a bit rough due to the trashed interior and cloudy paint but the body was in great shape with only 4 dents on the entire car, one is on the hood and one on the fender. I have a straight hood and both fenders that will be painted and installed leaving the car with only 2 dents. It truly is in wonderful shape for a 21 year old machine. The odometer just rolled past 145,000 and the car is bone stock except for an intake, this is a nice blank canvas for me.
These were taken on my first visit to see/drive the car.
My first TT had black/grey interior so the red will have to go.
The stock shifter bushings were not installed when the clutch was recently replaced leaving a sloppy stick. I machined some tight bushings out of delrin and installed the short shifter from the Slicktop. I now have the tightest/shortest shifter I've ever felt in a Z, it's perfect.
The entire red interior was removed to make way for the black/grey combo.
This is how the car currently looks. Thanks for the wheels Doug! These will be relegated to track duty after I mount tires on the OTHER wheels.
The garage was rearranged to fit the Z and Vette in their new homes.
