Because it's just that. Irresistable. I'm glad I got the plan when I did to celebrate their 1 year anniversary.Originally posted by thetransporter
i like the name...
I can't believe the guys in here paying so much more for a lesser plan. I haven't had issues with coverage either.
... The only reason I'm sticking with Telus is because I've been with them for 8+ years, and I am under the impression you get some vip status ordeal for being there 10 or 15+ years? With awesome deals?
Is this still around? Or am I barking up a pipe dream?

It's essentially a work phone, so I do a lot of Canadian long distance. US varies month to month but is never under 5 hours.
I also go over my 6GB data every few months so these other data plans with it being lower wouldn't cut it.
If anyone has any suggestions how to get 6GB data and unlimited canadian long distance, it may be worth just buying an addition US package. I still feel like $135 is steep.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
lol AFAIK theres no VIP status given after 10/15 yrsOriginally posted by swak

you get access to retention plans after about 6 months or so usually, but it gets easier towards 2yr mark and later in to your contract (the whole point is to retain you as a customer)
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/ongoi...scussion-f129/
there are retentions threads in there for Rogers, Bell and Telus to browse (go to the end and see what ppl are getting now since those threads are old as fuck lol)
this is the telus thread, for example
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/merge...n-plan-617794/
Anyways update to my initial post:
The plan they promised me is indeed the plan I got (for once there was no billing fuck up lol )
and they also waived the balance of my early upgrade fee (around $150 i think)
Same here. Used to be only 1GB of data, but called up and said they should up it since they were selling my exact plan with 6GB at the time.Originally posted by GS430

WTF am I doing wrong here? I've been a telus customer forever, and 25 months into a 36 month contract (it was my first contract I've ever had with them though, used to be strictly monthly),
I just got off the phone with them, saying I wanted to pay off my current phone ($90), and start a new contract with switching my wife from pay-and-talk, to contract as well. They said the only thing they could do was put us on a $75 business plan that would give me basically the exact same plan as the telus "Unlimited talk and text - 3 GB Share", which is $80.
Pretty lame customer retention.

It's sad but you have to tell them you're considering leaving and they better convince you to stay. It also seems to vary GREATLY who you're dealing with in retentions.
Ultracrepidarian
check out the redflagdeals links i put in this thread somewhere
the telus retentions thread specifically
see what others are getting across canada
sometimes retentions just goes thru a shitty period and won't offer shit

I was on Rogers when I switched and Telus was offering an insanely good deal to jump ship and considering Rogers wouldn't and couldn't do anything to match. It made it a pretty easy decision to say see ya.

Lol, I just got off the phone with them again, telling them I wanted to pay off my device balance, because I've decided to switch to Bell.
They politely told me my device balance would be on my April bill, and "we're sad to see you go".
Guess 15 years of patronage doesn't mean squat.
