Default Great Falls to Los Angeles - AllegiantAir

Hey guys this morning I got an email from Allegiant air introducing the new non-stop flight from Great Falls to Los Angeles.
I usually use this airline to flight to Las Vegas for dirt cheap.

I was planing on flying to Phoenix sometime in june with my parents, however, after I saw that I could flight to Los Angeles for 190 bucks in June I thought why not? it could be more fun and lots more to do.

My question is, where would be a decent/ not crazy expensive area to stay around Los Angeles?
I looked at the hotels/ houses and they are super expensive (compare to Phoenix) is it going to be the same price range all over L.A.?

    Thanks in advance

I usually stay in Huntington Beach. Surf town, lots of pubs and bars and shopping. Beach is right there and can walk everywhere.

    Allegiant Air is the shit.

When I was going to school down in the states my buddies and I would fly out to Vegas on a friday afternoon and come back sunday night for no more than $150 round trip. The airport they flew out of was a joke too, you could show up 5-10 minutes before your flight (yes, in america!) and board the plane.

    Good times.

Drive down and spend the night at the O'Haire Motor Inn drinking your face off at the Sip n Dip Tiki Lounge (Mermaid Bar). http://ohairemotorinn.com/?p=sip-n-dip

When flying Allegiant out of North Dakota (Grand Forks and Fargo) many hotels will let you park for a week for free if you spend a night at their hotel.

Handy if the flight you have is really early in the morning or returns late at night.

I was planning a trip to Vegas in early July, then driving over to L.A. so this could come in handy. Just priced the whole thing out - 5 nights in hotel in Vegas, 1 night hotel in Montana, fuel to drive to Montana, three nights hotel in L.A. and a rental car for the drive to L.A. and the time there for a grand total of $1200 for two people. Prettttty sweet.

I just picked a random one that came to a total of $500. I know that I'll actually end up spending more to get a better location. I'd like to stay around Santa Monica, but damn, it is crazy expensive. That shit cray.

    Its not fun

Also allegiant updated their hotels so now I can see more affordable stuff, this morning there was nothing for less than 1200 bucks, hotel and flight for around $900 for two. Not bad at all

Definitely true but it's also easier to deal with domestic flight than airport customs, not that Calgary is typically too bad. Toronto on the other hand ...
