where to buy dvi to hdmi cable

hey, just wondering on where i could buy some cheap dvi to hdmi cable, 20ft long or so. Is there any places in calgary that would sell that for cheap? I know theres a place in saskatoon that would sell 6ft of it for like 8$. So i'm sorta looking for that kind of deal, as i'm in school.

This is sometimes not as simple as you think....What are you converting? Blueray?....Cable Box?

No such cable exists.

You need to use a dvi to hdmi adapter.

Take into consideration when doing this you'll no longer have audi over the hdmi source if you planned for that and will have to run separate audio cables.

As xtrema posted, monoprice if you can wait for shipping. If you need a custom length sooner, only thing I can suggest is MemEx cables with m-m extenders.

Are you with shaw direct? They are the only company I can think of using DVI to HDMI

This is wrong. The cable exists and is not hard to find at all.

Monoprice has the cables and is probably your safest and cheapest bet.

But to firebane's credit, sometimes getting an adapter is the best choice since an adapter is cheap and the hdmi cable can be reused. DVI should just die.

I've got the monoprice setup that integrates audio too. Can't use it because my iMac has a different port than the DVI (sucks).

I can sell you it. No shipping or wait times.

My computer has dvi and my tv is hdmi, this is what i'm using it for. I'm able to have audio through this cable as well.
The cable i got was from OTV and i was hoping to find a simliar store in Calgary.
Looks like i'll try that adapter and buy a long hdmi cable

yes the dvi-hdmi cables CAN pass audio... but your dvi source/sink can NOT do anything with the audio

hdmi can be ran farther than dvi as well so the adapter might be better depending on length. dvi is nice because its a locking connector, thats about it.

b&e electronics in calgary should have such a cable and they do deal with the general public.
