Traverse/Enclave/Acadia are the best value non-truck platform, yet large sized SUV.
I believe they have more interior space than the old MDX, Highlander or Pilot, but not sure about compared to the new one.
basically like the pacifica... a AWD mini-van but they are good on gas and have a reputable tow rating.
Otherwise honestly nothing is better than a Sienna/odyssey for "touring"
I believe they are quite a bit larger than the caravan counterparts as well... but in both the new and used market, the caravan could be had for fractions of the latter.
Any reason a small RV isn't on your list? Would be super nice to have something you could stand up in and have almost zero setup at each stop.
I know it doesn't fit with a few of your points but as a kid I would have loved to do an RV trip with the family.

You sure? Didn't the last 5 get touring models up here?
http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...-series-wagon/The 5-Series Touring is set to launch in June, meaning only 25 years and five months until we can legally import them here. Mark your calendars.
I agree, couldnt imagine doing this with kids with out some amenities. Nice to also be able to sleep along the way if needed etc.Originally posted by J-hop

I would save the "touring" driving experience for after kids. Although i like that idea haha.
Road trek SS Agile without a doubt. There are a couple of them for sale around Alberta.

Young family and big road trip, Honda or Toyota man, nothing else holds it's value, even if brought to the states. Both use all the new nannies and neither you have to worry about finding a dealer if something comes up. People are still fighting to get well equipped Pilots and Highlanders.
I love love love Volvos SUV but I would never buy one, just lease.
Looks like the Sienna is 0.7 faster in the 0-60 department vs the Odyssey.
Model X seems interesting but the price.
M550i looks quite nice.
Good suggestions.
