    IGA which I guess is Sobey's. My main one used to be Co-op but when I moved the only grocery store in the vicinity is IGA. For me, convenience and short line ups trump saving ~$20/month

    We shop at Safeway whenever one of the vehicles needs gas. If you spend $210.01 you get $0.20/L off. Gas is low now, but it was sure nice when it was $1.29 for premium lol.

    1) Superstore
    2) T&T
    3) Costco

    We try to limit our Costco trips because every time we go it's like at least two bills.

    We did a comparison once where we bought 25 identical items at each store and Safeway come out to $4 more expensive.

    Why the f*&k do so many people shop at Safeway?

    Yes, their produce and meat is pretty good, but their prices for everything else (processed or no-expiration food) is obscene.

    Beyond truly is full of ballers

    It all depends on what you buy regularly, but using CTV Calgary's "grocery basket", in the past 13 months

    Co-op = $1837.92
    Safeway = $1900.16
    Sobey's = $1798.98
    Superstore = $1702.09

    (but we also get over $100 cheque every year from Co-op though) I'd probably shop at Sobey's if there were one anywhere close to us.

    before my wife I was all about Safeway, partially because I love their steaks, and partially because you could earn like 600 airmiles in a trip no problem :P.
    She has really been on a getting her groceries at Wal Mart Kick, but we live in Didsbury, so the local grocery store is A&G foods, which has some good sales, but if people think safeway is expensive for normal priced stuff...lol.

    my grocery shopping is almost always based on proximity. in killarney the 3 closest grocery stores are all safeways. walmart i guess too, but anything fresh there is garbage.
