    I just hope it makes it into the Macan, it also runs the V6 lineup. And praise the lord if it makes it in there without a turbo badge. Now I know I am dreaming.

    440 HP in the Macan would make it very serious, and IMO help justify the cost premium of the turbo.

    Consider 3L V6/I6 is the work horse of BMW/Audi/Mercedes, this isn't European focused.

    It's Chinese displacement tax:

    2.9L = 9%
    3.0L = 25%
    4.0L = 40%

    And these numbers were from 2008, I think it has gone up since and lowered back down for the 1.6-2L class.

    Right, I forgot about the V6 architecture. I mean Audi has a nice 3L in the S models. But I like the 2.9 making quite a bit more juice

    That makes sense. It's funny how they're sacrificing efficiency in engine designs to cater to absurd displacement tax brackets.
