Default Microsoft Flight Free to Play

So Microsoft finally released Flight and I've been playing it a couple days now and am pretty thoroughly impressed especially for a free game.

Its pretty bare right now as it was just released with 2 free planes and 2 that cost microsoft points. You only get to fly around hawaii but the graphics are good and it is fun to play.

Its definatly not a simulation at all and focuses pretty much on flying and landing. Feels like pilotwings in a way.

But thought I would throw this out there figured someone would enjoy it.

i was in the beta, turned me off since its not a real sim as you said, idk why they did it this way, there is a massive fanbase for M$ flight sims, probably cause they think they'll make money off DLC airplanes and maps.

but i'll give full release a shot i guess, can't complain for a free game right

Holy crap, my computer isn't too old and I don't even come close to the recommended requirements.

That must be the full version when it comes out. the download was less than 2gigs

My laptop runs it seamlessly on high settings and it looks gorgeous probably the only way this game is better than FS

I watched some videos and it just doesn't look as fun as FSX as I like the true simulator experience with all of the big planes and being able to fly wherever. It does look really good though and sounds pretty fun with its missions and such. I will probably still try it out once I found my joystick.

I think they did an amazing job at what they were trying to do. Which was create a flight sim that almost anyone can play.

If you are looking for a true sim, the new xplane 10 is out (what I am playing right now) and it is a TRUE sim. Be ready for 64gb and much better hardware to play though.

Where did you pick up your copy of xplane10? Any place local carry it or did you have to order the dvds off their website. If so how long was shipping?

haha, had no idea the game was that big. I checked the torrent and even that is 56gb.
I believe xplane is the one they use in the actual simulators though?

I have no idea if you can get x-plane locally...

X-plane is used in actual sims. You can purchase a usb key from them that turns it into a certified version.

Also for anyone interested, there is an xplane app that is available for android/ios and it is actually pretty good for a mobile app.

I actually got xplane 10 amidst all the interest, awesome build and game, everything that the newest average Joe flight sim should have, flew a mig 21 fishbed from Cybw to cyvr in an astonishing time lol with cheat refuels.

Then a baron to vegas from yyc with multiple failures, epic stuff with no air regulations.

I have been playing it on my laptop and it struggles even at medium settings. Are you able to max out settings? If so what sort of hardware do you have?

    I am running
    i3 370M
    Radeon HD5650
    8gig ram
