Combustion engine itself is amazingly dangerous when not maintained.

Liquid electrolyte is also a huge fire hazard if punctured.

    But maybe soon:

Model 3 might have some big news in a couple days.

Higher energy density is going to be a requirement for more widespread adoption of a whole host of technologies, from electric cars to home-based solar and wind generation.

Batteries are for sure a huge key.

Safety measurements in crashes are fine and necessary, but safety measurements when sitting in your parking spot might actually be more pertinent. Inadequately ventilated underground parking is lethal, something that Las Vegas knows all too well.

Probably why Germany heads of state are banning the combustion engine for vehicles:

Look at it realistically once you open up the hood. A combustion engine has literally the most human life shortening components of anything you will ever use in your life.

Its got chemicals that can kill you & dog nearly instantly. Its got hot liquids that can maim and blind nearly instantly. Its got exhaust that can kill in minutes but can kill braincells with much lower concentrations. Its got moving parts that can rip a finger or limb off instantly.

And I'm not even going to get into the cost effectiveness of burning natural gas to extract oilsands, which still needs to be transported by the millions of tons per day, refined to gasoline before it can be inefficiently burned to produce motion and a ton of waste heat in the engine.

    https://www.tesla.com/en_CA/models-c...#/installation

At 4 cents per kwh, using that calculator it would take about $1.11 per 100 kilometers using a standard 110 volt plug, even cheaper if you use a 220 volt. No movement of millions of tons of carbon per day, just electrons on the grid (probably will anger many Albertans and Texans)

Natural gas electrical power plants starting to hit 60% efficiency and will only get more efficient in the next two decades.

I don't bother talking about combustion engines *at all*, because there is more than a good chance that any technology based upon it will be completely and utterly useless very soon.

    https://electrek.co/2017/04/19/tesla...iff-save-life/

Guy swerves his Tesla off a 500ft cliff and walks away unscathed, says Tesla's build quality saved his life.

Sounds to me like the OP doesn't understand what a deathtrap is.

Probably not, everybody that was died a horrific fiery death... possibly while being electrocuted at the same time

I am sure the car covered it's tracks by selectively erasing data, that is what I would do if I was a homicidal car anyway.
Why don't you just tell us Elon has mind control powers and his black helicopters are following you.

If you believe that Tesla is in a conspiracy to erase data because they have to hide the homicidal autopilot systems they continue to sell, no amount of reasoning is going to convince you otherwise.

You remind me of apple/android or windows/apple fanboys. They have way too much love/hate for a product that they have to spend money to buy. The fact is companies love it when they see people spew so much hate. For every Sugarphreak, there is an equivalent Tesla lover who hates other cars and will defend Tesla. Just like in android and apple battle threads, this thread is not going to stop anyone from buying a Tesla. For every point you throw out, someone has given a valid counterpoint.

This thread is about the equivalent of putting a Calvin pissing on Tesla decal for your car.

Does Phreak actually have hate on for people who actually own Teslas? I thought his wrath was focused on the company and the products themselves?

I dislike tesla at least as much as he does, but I don't care if people buy them. People buy stupid shit all the time, that's normal. I do judge Tesla for their marketing practices, ugly cars, and empty promises though. I also judge the people who buy their stock lol.

For the people who drive them? I am satisfied enough with just smoking them from a rolling start anywhere north of 30kph, or at least any of the non P models ( omg I just realized that I sound like Hallowed with his accord ).

I said he hates the product, not the people.

The question is, how long until it figures out that the real problem is humans?

Agreed. You got a guy who thinks he's Tony Stark running a company with a koolaid propaganda machine that would make the most successful cult leader envious.

Them calling their buggy cruise control 'autopilot' pretty much sums everything about that company up. Lies built on smoke and mirrors in regards to something that will be decades before it is likely to actually work well enough to use without being sued into oblivion.
