Default RCMP pulled me over in the city?

I was pulled over around 16th ave and Valleyridge a couple weeks ago for speeding. The infraction occured outside of city limits, but I was pulled over within city limits.

I'm guessing it doesn't matter and they are allowed to do that, but I thought I'd throw it out there just incase anyone can confirm.

rcmp have jurisdiction CANADA wide so he can ticket you inside a city, they can be on vacation in B.C. form here and still ticket ppl asd theyre also on duty 24/7, calgary cops have jurisdiction only in the province of Alberta(so i was told by a friends rcmp buddy

Wow you sure handled that well, it's almost as if you are excited about it

Just a note, quite a few of my friends have had success fighting off the demerits on the tickets. They just go down there and say they don't want the demerits on their record and apparently it's all wiped clean... although they still have to pay the ticket.

You might as well try it out?

I've done that for every single CPS ticket I've gotten, but I've heard the RC's are a little stiffer about that. Plus driving all the way out to Cochranne in the middle of the day would suck...

I might phone them and see what I can do though, just because I'd like to keep my record clean.

I may not be excited to pay it, but I'm also the type of guy that says "Shit I'm dumb" when he gets pulled over as opposed to "That cop is full of crap, he's descriminating against me because I'm young! This is bullshit!!!".

I broke the law, so I'll pay up. If I have to

RCMP doesn't have jurisdiction within city limits. If you got your ticket within the city, it should be void. If your infraction happened in their territory, and you get into the city, you got away.

In Nelson, BC (the smallest city in N. America with its own police force), they created their own force so they can tell their officers to 'look the other way' with regards to marijuana, and collect taxes from its sale! Crazy, I know! With their own force, RC's have no jurisdiction there and cant perform busts or anything, which WOULD happen if they were patrolling Nelson.

wow i fell out of my chair laughing, not at this statement, but at you, because you think that an RCmp cant get you cause your inside a conflicting juristiction.....wow... i can understand this if the original post had read "ok so i was speeding down along the boarder, and a rcmp pulled up beside me and wanted to pull me over, so i rammed his car and then crossed the boarder... can i still get nailed with evading and trying to kill a police officer, even though i ran to the states

when cut open, the rambutan unfortunately fails miserably to deviate from its outwardly testicular appearance, revealing an inside that looks for all the world exactly how you'd expect the contents of a scrotum to look.
