Default Why is Walmart tire mount & balance so cheap??

Can anyone tell me why Walmart only charges 13.50 per corner for mount and balance?????? While others in the city...including our own sponsors charge at least $100????? Is there something I'm missing???

Walmart wont do rims 18 inch or bigger and won't mount tires less than a 50 or 45 series.

Having worked in the wheel and tire industry for a while...

The equipment used, the weights used, the experience in higher end wheels, larger sizes...I am sure if you took Steelies to Bob they would charge you far less than that of an Alloy....

All my wheel and tires mounting and balancing needs go to Tirebob and the boys at Urban X...including steelies...Because of the care and attention to detail he and his staff take in making sure my money spent is taken care of...

whhhaat since when has it been 100$ per corner, you must be talking about 17 inch and up? i remember when i worked for a dealership, we charged 90$ or so for anything 17 inch and up maybe some extra on top of that if you ran 40 series and below, 16 inch and below was about 40$ and before that it was 10$ per tire when i had my first car (i have had access to mount my own tires for almost 4.5 years now, kinda forgot the prices.)

The going rate at most shops is $25 per corner, not $100. If anyone is charging $100 expect them to be out of business soon. As to Wal-mart they hire 15 year old goofs who lose or steal your hub caps and scratch the hell out of your wheels.

Pretty sure the OP meant the $100 for 4 tires quoted by the sponsor, versus Walmart's $13.50 per tire.

If you care about your wheels then pay the extra $$$. If they're garbage wheels or steelies then take them to Walmart.

Oh geez....obviously I meant $100 for all four corners... ...anyways, good to know that Walmart only does 17 and under cuz my Murano tires are 18inch...FUCK!....they are the stock Murano rims so I really couldn't give 2 shits about them but will they still do 18's and just charge a bit more, I don't understand why it costs more the bigger the rim.

If you look at hourly shop rates (most are $100/hr) its easy to see how a set of tires to be mounted and balanced can run $100+/hr. Especially if they are run flats. Add in weights and other shop supplies, $100.00 isnt too bad.

They are charging lower prices because they want to take a couple hours doing your car, while you go in the store and shop while you wait.

Cause they hire fuckin tools. They also wont do any low profile tire, but the last time my GF went they charged her $5.00 a tire to install them unreal I couldnt believe it.
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

I bought my last tires from TireBob and their tire machine is second to none.

I always had balancing issues on my car whenever i would drive over 150km/h, (my car ALWAYS went to Kal Tire), well needless to say that is totally gone. My A4 feels a lot smoother on the highway and even over 200km/h it is perfectly smooth.

The winters on my wifes Passat are on factory alloys that have curb rash etc. Those are perfect for Walmart installation, but good wheels and tires should always be installed and balanced on a good machine.

because you can never get it in to walmart, you have to drop your car off first thing in the morning with no appointment and pray their shop bitch shows up for work so it actually gets done.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.
