if its true those are wicked numbers for hondas which usuallt end up testing way lower!
Darkane
Thats HUB HP NOT WHP. theres about a 7% difference with HUB being higher. I think its 7%.
Even still new Civic should be able to do great against Cobalt and SRT-4.

Yeah if those numbers are true this car puts out more power than the RSX-S! (RSX-s dynos about 180-190 on the dynapack usually). I know they accepted the new SAE power ratings but to under rate HP is something totally new for Honda LOL. Can't wait to test drive this beast!

Those kind of numbers could upset a significant amount of rsx-s owners  also could mean a trade in for me!

Well my new civic arrives next week! Maybe when the SI comes out in june I will trade it in!! :D

It's about time Honda made another decent civic with some balls. No more of this 127HP VTEC trash.

Why do you say the Si is coming out in June? I thought it should be out before the years end?

It will be competative but it will never put down numbers even remotely close to an SRT-4 without forced induction. From preliminary test numbers from Road & Track the new Si is a tad slower than an RSX type-S. Take a look at the last C&D comparison between a type-S, cobalt ss, ion, and SRT-4. The SRT-4 was so much faster in every category it's like it should have been in a different class.

I have no doubt that it will be the best performing (and most expensive) Civic to ever hit north america and a very nice car but I wouldn't expect any better performance than the latest RSX type-S which has the added benefit of the JDM Integra type-R cams.

Also even though the peak numbers are decent, those dyno curves aren't pretty.

He means the Si as in the SiR. In the US the SiR is just called Si there and our Si is their Ex.

From all I've seen so far I think the Si will stand in Canada too this time around. No more SIR so the names will all match. Anyways the base civics are suppose to be out this month and the Si(R) civic is due by december, or that's what I've heard from the dealers.

I say that just for mishaps the real arrival date is end of febuary.

I didn't know that the new RSX has JDM cam (like Austrailian version "integra type-S") good info..for me.. haha

and.. yeah.. SRT-4 is damn fast.. beast.. they can eat most of

stock Hondas(except expensive s2000 , nsx..) on straight ways.

if the new Si comes with that horse power range,,

there must be lots of JDM CTR-rate spec parts in the USDM car.
