Slightly different back which i'm not a fan of but other then that it's identical to the 350z. I would hope for something a little more inventive if they did make a 450z.

the article reads that it is a Design concept by Nissan to showcase the GT series that Nissan partakes in, that it will feature a V8 430 Hp machine, that is only going to be available in NA and its plan is to market against cars such as Porsche 911 and the Maserati 4.GT or at least thats what i could make out of it

The market success of the small 350z sport coupe in the united states is undeniable. Nissan, however, does not want to rest on it's laurels and is preparing to launch a "super z" to the american market in 2005: the 450z. The 350z supplies is structure and modern design. Everything else is changed. The V6 gives way to a 4.5L V8, which has tasted victory in various GT races in Japan. It would produce approximately 430hp, compared to 280 for the V6...The transmission is a 6 speed manual, but more important, all four wheels are driven. Smaller than other coupes in it's market segment, the 450Z would also be much lighter. It's direct competition would be the Porsche 911 Carerra, and the Maserati 4.2 GT, which is also powered by a fantastic V8. Very promising!

How can anyone think this looks good? It looks like the 350Z and it shouldn't!

If the 450Z is going to be a higher performance car, they have to make it stand apart from from the 350Z --- giving it the same look as a 350Z will just hurt the 450Z name.

doubt it...nissan is kinda well known for beating a horse half to death when it comes to their engine platforms...the 4.5 V8 is currently used in the M45, Q45, FX45 in various trim levels so I wouldn't be to surprised to see it shoved into the 350Z(450Z...whatever)

no its more like it will hurt the whole Z legacy. when a new Z model comes out it has to be faster better looking and more inovative than before..

so i'm thinking this was a older concept picture before the 350Z was still getting made.

For some reason it just seems like one of those cars that wont be made. In all honesty, I dont know who would buy a Nissan over a Porsche or Maserati, fast as it maybe!

TOKYO — Nissan is planning to shoehorn the 4.5-liter V8 that powers several Infiniti models into its 350Z sports car to create a 400-horsepower hot rod.

The muscled-up coupe would be called the 450Z, says U.K. magazine Autocar. So far, the more powerful coupe has not been confirmed for production, but Nissan is seriously considering it in a bid to compete with the likes of Porsche.

The 450Z could also have an Audi quattro-style four-wheel-drive transmission in order to make sure the V8's output can be safely transferred to the road. The only problem is that the V8 currently doesn't meet all worldwide emissions rules. But Nissan is planning to modify the engine to meet Euro IV standards as it's planning to launch Infiniti in Europe in early 2007.
