June 2008 Photoshop Contest

Its been a while! The contest will end about a week before the end of the month, and to gain more attention to the chops, a voting thread will be set up in the General section.

Provided we get at least 3 chops, I will try to keep the contest running on 3 week intervals (allowing one week for voting between each).

Rules:

1. The size of the image must be reduced to 1024x768px when you submit it
   
2. The background cannot be changed.
   
3. You cant take a significant chunk of another car and simply paste it on and call it a chop.
   
4. No shrinking of the car to micromachine sizes.
   
5. No moving or flashing parts.
   
6. No marks on the image that will let others directly know that its your chop (that includes tags, borders, and any text).
   
7. Each member may submit up to 2 chops
   

Now, I know you guys can go nuts with this one!

NO offence but your rules are VAGUE!

There should either be NO background changes, or background changes are allowed. "Significant" means a whole bunch of different things to choppers.

You should have someone else choose the picture as we don't know that you have spent the last 6 months doing a chop of this car. You called the contest, who's to say you aren't already done.

Also, unless I'm missing something here, you said to reduce the image to 1024x768 but the original is 800x600 :confused:

the image is fixed now, never realized that it shrinks it when u upload it to imageshack


second of all, the rules were basically pasted from old contests, you can modify it to do things like drop the car, nothing significant


and use a dictionary, i just meant that you can't leave any tags on your picture to indicate that you made it (tags, logo, borders, etc)

and, i did not pick this picture til early this morning when i told a random to find a high res pic of a smartcar for me.

i probably wont be submitting anything anyways.

man u guys are hard to please, last time i set one up i put a saab 9-3 in and everyone decided it was already too nice to do a chop, now when i put something in that has TONS of potential to be chopped, u guys say that it's lame. point is to make a normal car look extraordinary, maybe next month we'll have a vote for what picture to have the following month, for now, just stick with this one, im sure u guys all have more than enough skill to do something interesting to it.

Why cant we have tags? so it can be stolen?
i think thats kinda bad
maybe set something like the whole picture cant have your tag
but maybe bottom right of the pic can have your username

can't have tags so that when the vote happens, people dont vote based on who made it.

Weve been doing it this way for years. Nismo does a kick ass job at setting these up.

i duno if nismodrifter is actually doing anything, havent heard anything from him since he posted, for now assume that this contest is still going - unless this thread gets locked.

lets wrap this one up sooner than later so that we can move on to a new one with a "better" picture for next month, we'll make the deadline on the june 6th

next friday.

by then im sure nismo can come up with something new..that or we can vote on what picture to use.

hope we get a few to vote from.
