The rumour is the Base STI will be $39,995 and the Sport-Tech pack $44,995.

I think a red one with the 5 spokes will look great.

zip to the brochure with changes.

I must admit that's funny. There are actually allot of similarities in the lines of the cars LOL.

That's my whole issue with the new STI. I can't fathom shelling out $45K for a car that looks like a $24K hatchback.

My whole point here was to show that the STI might start under 40K which is 10K less than it was selling new 2 yrs ago. And people wonder why their 2006 STIs aren't fetching 35 K in the marketplace...

Amazing isn't it considering the STI is built on a 22k hatchback!!

You don't see M3 owners who pay 70k for their car complaining it looks like a 35k 323i.

However you get complaining from someone who doesn't even own an STI. :drama:

Nah, your whole issue with the STI is that it isn't a Mitsubishi.

Yeah that sucks almost as bad as 2008 WRX buyers that now are stuck with an Impreza GT.

I'm actually on the fence as my next car will be one of a Ralliart, EVO, WRX 265 (or whatever), STI. If Mitsubishi Canada doesn't properly adjust their pricing I may end up with a Subaru. The cars all offer very similar performance and specs. It all comes down to price and styling. I like the Mistubishi styling and the Subaru pricing. I don't have allegiance to any manufactuer. Honda, Mazda, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Toyota, I've owned them all, I'm just into cars.

And you love Mitsu!

haha

Come on, admit it. You have a hate on for Subaru. You hate the styling, the lack of handling compared to the EVO.

Every STI vs. EVO thread you are always for the EVO and against the STI.

I would have had an EVO, but mitsu was stupid with the price. Seriously thinking STI again. I need a winter beater and the GTI has become the new civic around here!

I am for EVO and against STI because beyond is full of Subaru fanboys and there are no mitsu fanboys so since I owned and loved a couple of DSM's I have taken it on myself to stick up for the other side. I have said many times on beyond that the new WRX/STI IMO looks far better than last iterations and they would always be 2nd on my list if an EVO or whatever isn't a possibility. I don't love or even like the new WRX styling but that's because it's too bland IMO but at least it's not ugly like the preveous WRX's and I found out with the SRT-4 that I can't own cars that I find ugly.

I'm certainly no Subaru hater as I patrol NASIOC on a regular basis to educate myself. The cars are very similar in performance and specs but oversteer > understeer so of course I would prefer the handling of the EVO. The rest of the cars are more splitting hairs as they both have economy interiors, with EVO's you get the tranny problems, with STI's you get the engine problems and they both have bad paint. I agree that Mitsubishi Canada really has to adjust their pricing if they wan't to be competitive in Canada. There's no way an EVO MR should cost over $8000 more in Canada than a US model.:thumbsdow

I agree 100%. The Lancer front end is very well designed.

On topic, STi under $40k? That's fantastic. Good job Subaru!

YES. And performance that can match or better the M3, C63, IS-F etc.;)

find me a decently equipped 135 for $45K and I will buy it. the 135 is closer to $60K.

MB: Match performance maybe, at the risk of warranty. Better performance? I don't think so.

Lightning Red + base model is the only reason I considered importing an STI from the States, so this is great news! Also, SWP is a much nicer colour than Aspen...so more good news. Moonroof is also great news.

Now if only we could get the JDM seats, improved tuning, and less understeer, the STI would be the perfect car.

^^^ I haven't been a big fan of Subaru's recent styling efforts, but that's better looking than the GTR!!

when should we be seeing the trims/new pricing at dealerships?

Aleks

Pricing was announced today in US and cars can be ordered. If you look at the documents attached up top the say 09 08 01 or something like that so I am guessing Sept 1? for Canada for prices and ordering.
