Does anyone know where I can buy this chin bar that attaches to your door frame? Similar to this one:

I need to practice my pull-ups and I haven't had time to go to the gym lately.

Thanks and hope to hear from you!

I bought a similar one for 70 dollars from this other fitness store in town.

Its crooked so it always falls as your pulling up.

Ouch.

My bro picked one up at the fitness store in Willow Park Village... i gotta say its actually pretty awsome... i do the gym thing everyday but this is nice to have to just pump a few out in the morning (i set it up at the door to my bedroom). also if you miss a day working out i just do situps pushups and the other house friendly stuff and this just adds to it... good option.

Would you happen to know how much it cost? Sounds like what I'm looking for but if it's pricey, straight bar for me!

That's the P90X Chin-up bar... You can probably only buy it online and its $49.95 USD + 14.95 USD shipping...

Does this device cause any damage to the drywall/frame/etc?

Yeah, seems like it's just a lever in action really. Not really sure how the physics of it work but it's neat!

Checked out LD today and saw a similar one for $40.

Will check out other stores throughout the week though.

Another thought, and for those who want to work out away from home (eg. hotel)..... fold a towel up and place it on top of a sturdy door (wont have the sharp edge that way), and do pull-ups (instead of chin-ups).

I bought the 'Power Gym' at Fitness Source Megastore at Deerfoot and my word, that place is BIG!

Bought a new one for $31-something and so far, it's been worth every penny!

I'm planning to work hard on pull-ups/chin-ups as I can only do MAX 5. Planning on double digit-ing that goal!

I'm almost positive i would destroy my door frame if i used this.

There's actually hooks that attaches to your door stud. So far it's been able to hold 164lbs (me) quite well. Just use PROPER wood screws unlike those crap that came with it.

Useless things.

Hm... That, I'm unsure of.

Maybe and hope for the best? :dunno: Door frames seem to be strong enough to hold the upper part of a house (if you're on the basement.)

I guess if you feel iffy, just purchase a dedicated pull-up bar and those push-up grips.

^ yea I was wondering the same thing, because if I hooked that to my door i think i would break the door after a couple of pull ups :nut:

i bought one from fitness source too and it is worth every penny. I think i paid $32 in total. the screws that it come's with are not very strong so you will have to buy some drywall screws
