Eg Project: Not a show car. - Click HERE for Original Thread

Joe-G
I you can do a wire tuck, im sure you can handle the job. You can keep the Civic Underdash harness, and splice in the connectors your need for the cluster, clock, climate control, etc. You can also just cut the inside of the dash to make it clear the column.
SeeAreEx
Yeah i'm not to worried about it. Just happy to be rid of the blue shit!
Sparx
Man i might have to honestly keep my car just following between yours and streethondas threads looks like the eg community should be pretty serious this coming summer.
SeeAreEx
Haha Do it man! Theres gonna be some hot cars for sure.

Well i spent my afternoon at pick n pull and at my shop installing my treasures. I managed to round up a mint black dash, glove box, center console, made one clock work out of two i found, a set of mint floor mats, black carpet, two speicial edition black door panels with tweeters in them and some power mirror switches.

Well heres the pics of todays work and a couple of the car itself, enjoy.
The old shitty blue dash..

Lack of carpet...

All the new stuff waiting its turn.

Power mirror switch, clock , firewall plug and harnesses for the oem tweeters.

During the swap. I decided top finish off my wire tuck properly. I cut my harness again and pulled everything into the cab then cut a 2 inch hole with a hole saw in the lower part of the firewall to pass my engine harness connections threw. Now its finally done and all hidden behind the dash. You can see my fusebox here. I cut my glove box so that when you open the glovey the fuse box is mounted right there for easy access.

And All finished up, no more blue! yay

PAinted my valve cover.. Didnt come out as dark as expected but its better then the oem one for now..

Driver side wire tuck.

Passenger side.

How she sits for now.. Dontmind the front ride hieght.

My n1 and new mudguards.

Next update when i get my mirror installed!
jdmcivic1
nice build
can wait to see more
SeeAreEx
Thanks man.

Got a few things done, wink mirror is installed, no pics yet tho. Wired up my door tweeters and cd player. Started working on the engine bay. removed every bolt i could and wire wheeled it then sprayed it with clear coat and re installed them.

Also picked up some of these bad boys to add some style points under the hood. These will replace all my hood, fender, headlight, rad stay, coolant bracket and other misc 10 mm bolts under the hood.

chosen-juan
im liking the tail lights and the corners! =)
where did you pick up the amber stained glass paint, and smoke tint? if you dont mind me askin???
SeeAreEx

:werd: I want one now after reading all that.

streethondas
k it doesnt look good but after reading that :bigpimp: :bigpimp:

what color were your old door panels? and im missing the tweeters in my civic let me know if you find anymore :(

**edit** i will pick up the right side door panel from you:dunno:
SeeAreEx
The old door panels are black and in pretty good shape but there is no tweeters in them or any spot for them from factory. They have the armest section with the long pocket in them, but i took them off so i can re wrap them in another color. Would you want just the outside frame without the insert? I also have the inserts from my blue panels but im not sure it would match your other side.
streethondas
i dont need the insert, im going to use my SI insert and cover it up with red suede.
chosen-juan
i love your car man!
great build!
lovin the purple door panels
SeeAreEx
Thanks man, its greatly appreciated!
Forcefed

Sparx
Thats a fcukin siiiiiiiick mural. did you just do a wrap? i was thinking about doing something similar on my hood or somewhere random. Im jealous that actually looks really fresh.
SeeAreEx
Thnaks sparx. I just had a book full of graf stickers and i took my hatch off and just covered it corner to corner then sprayed it with clear coat to protect it a bit. Im really happy with the results, its better then i expected.
streethondas
looks sweeet!!

SeeAreEx
Thanks Man. I'll pm you about the panels.
SeeAreEx

Clark-Kent
Any Updates?? :bigpimp:
SeeAreEx
Not really. I havent spent much time on the car lately. To busy playing hockey and climbing mountains haha. Maybe I'll get somthing done next week. Maybe just pull it outsde for some non-iphone pictures of it how it sits now.
SeeAreEx
Installed a new d-side axle, fuel filter and some fresh oil today. Just waiting on payday for some goodies.
SeeAreEx
It's been awhile since i've updated so I guess I should get on that.
After struggling with starting issues and overheating issues everything is finally straightened out and working good. I've since picked up a Genuine Spoon cf duckbill and a set of replica spoon mirrors that I paint matched. Also sold my spun's and i'm picking up a new set of rims tonight. I'll put up some pics this week for sure.
Sparx
OOohhhhh sexy time im excited, bah i suppose i should do a small update as well.
eglove

streethondas

its hard to explain, hope you get it lol
Bizzareo
No too the roof! If its going to be tan, everything should be tan! Would be sweet to mix in some gold flake or something like that to make it shine :D .

SeeAreEx
Haha no worries man. Well I didnt buy Marios rims, just his hood and duckbill. I actually sold my supamesh's tonight and picked up some 16inch white slipstreams off the board. I'll yank out the nikon and take some pics to update you guys with this week. I'm sick of iphone pics... Any of you eg guys going to the meet on the 20th?
Sentry
Yup I am.
EM1FTW

Clark-Kent
Post picssssss :bigpimp:
SeeAreEx
Just one pic. The rest is under wraps until spring.

1/4 panels are next to be fixed, and after that who knows :dunno:
Sparx
Go black with the roof!!! Panda styles then the car would look even better, i said it once before and ill say it again, for not a show car its not coming along too bad ;)
SeeAreEx
Yeah when I get the rust fixed and repaint the car the roof will change for sure. Thanks for the compliments man!
Clark-Kent
^ Agreed Black roof would look dope
But nice progress man, will look even better after the quarters get fixed :poosie:
Joe-G
where do you plan on getting the rust fixed?
streethondas
looks sexxy man, the rims are sickk
EM1FTW
Damn! My wheels look better on there then I thought they would.
Good purchase!!!:poosie:
SeeAreEx
Thanks everyone, i'm pretty happy about the looks department right now. I'm picking up some small stuff this weekend but I think i'll be holding off on installing them until spring. I need to have some sort of surprise for you! haha

Joe- I'm not sure whats going to happen with the rust. My friend wants to do it in his garage but I'm not sure we're capable of such a feat. Picking up new 1/4 panels either this weekend or next though!
SeeAreEx
Looks like my omni power coils don't like the winter as one of them blew on me already. Oil all over my rear wheel well.. That's a bit of a bummer. Looking into a set of d2's or pic performance full coils for spring. Anyone have any opinions on either?
eglove
i hear skunk2 pro-c's are pretty sweet
SeeAreEx
Lol I seen that coming.... I thought they were sold?
eglove
they are still on hold. friggin impossible to try and find some stockers right now in the winter.

i would definitely recommend some pro c's though if you can afford them. maybe ask divahn about his bwr coils.
SeeAreEx
Yeah I had skunk2's on my crx and they were nice. I've been researching quite a bit and I like pic's r&d but I'm going to have to dig deep and find some opinions from people that have them. Money isnt an issue really they're all around 900-1200 which I can justify for what they do/are. Once i get new I'll send my blown omni out for rebuild and sell them as a set to recover some cash. Theres still plenty of time till Spring tho!
Joe-G
I got a set of rear integra shocks if you want.... with control arms too. But one of the the bolts were cut out and is still in the bushing. (Trailing arm, passenger side) You can have them for free.

As for the front, i might have some... One might be bent though.

You can come take them if you want.
streethondas
i might pick up those skunk2
TommyEK4
Man the rota's looks good on your car xD
Sparx
Blackworks racing is basically a sister company to d2 and i havent got to hit the road with my set but with the spring rate i have she should handle like a go kart.
SeeAreEx
Picked up a pair of replacement 1/4 panels yesterday. Along with some spoon goodness. Might have another spoon piece on the greyhound today. Fingers crossed! haha
SeeAreEx
So today I took off my hood and two front rims, in favor of winters. Probably be taking off the duckbill and mirrors also in an attempt to keep them presentable after this shitty winter is over. Going to start prepping the 1/4 panels and saving up to get her painted next. ANybody reccommend any shops that do a good job and wont charge me an arm and a leg??
SeeAreEx
Anybody going to or from edmonton soon? Need somthing picked up. Let me know
SeeAreEx
Picked up my sti rear diffuser today. Going to start mocking it up next week but it won't be going on until spring time hits.
Sparx
Ballin i wanted to do a diffuser but it'll cover up all my beautiful suspension hahaha
SeeAreEx
haha well this one will only cover up my crossmember. The lcas will still be visable and blinging haha.
SeeAreEx
Installed my diffuser today, was just going to do a test fit but it looked so good I decided to leave it on there. I'll post up pictures when I get home from work.
Sentry
Wow sweet. I want to see. :D
Clark-Kent
I wanna see this :D
streethondas
post it so i can copy it :poosie:
SeeAreEx
Copy it and Die! Haha j.k but I wouldnt be happy lol.

So heres what I started out with. An oem subaru wrx sti rear lower diffuser.

The underside of the spare tire well when I started. You can kind of see the oem honda rear gap filler in this picture.

The piece on the bench, already started a bit of trimming in this picture. Lots more of that to come.

Dry fitting to get some measuring for trimming and mounting points.
[IMG]http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs465.ash1/25551_337615307992_507107992_3608414_7878802_n.jpg[IMG]

Trimmed the large front curved piece off so it will sit more flush.

The remains after some trimming.

Rear mounting points in the bumper.

Up in place loosely to determine the front mount points.

A view from underneath showing the mounting locations and the hole cut for the rear tow hook access.

The two mounting points in the spare tire well. Just a couple 1/4" bolts.

Painted all the bolts black and its all done.

All the peices I cut off.

A little hard to see but Its there.

The finished product. A couple hours later. What do you think?

So I could possibly have an s2k gauge cluster in my hands this week. Stay tuned for that
Clark-Kent
^ looks good man nice work
and let us know how the S2K cluster works out
Ive been wanting to do that in my EJ8
Forcefed
Loving the progress on the EG bro! I got something on the way which is different but I think you'll love it:D
Sparx

Hahhaha your so smart

SeeAreEx
Haha yeah you are correct Sparx. Need to start gathering parts for the install. Wires connectors crimps v4 speedohealer and lots of time.
Clark-Kent
Hey i dont know if this is helpful or not but check this guy out
he can convert the cluster and everything for you then when you get back you can just plug it in to your car like a normal cluster

http://www.marklamond.co.uk/products/s2000/s2000.htm
eglove
yea....too bad he is in the UK. would cost way too much to ship it back and forth then pay in pounds for his service.
SeeAreEx
Yeah that would be expensive. Be nice if i were in the u.k though. Plus I think it would take away from the custom bit of it if I payed someone to do it. I want to do it myself, I'm confident that I can. Last resort I'll do that route. Thanks for the info though Clark.

SeeAreEx
Yeah i've been reading lots. Shouldnt be to tricky. Ordering my speedohealer and modifry ect corrector as soon as I'm finished moving this month. Gonna visit the cf store tomorrow and see what I can find.

Cheers to the weekend guys! Go Canada Go!
