Googled it and can't find any options but going with the full out MTECH bumper which I do'nt want to do. Any options for blacking out the lower grill (silver strip) to better match a blacked out upper grill?

^ Hehe, was thinking about that but wanted to see if there was another option. I have to think some have done this during a blacking out process. Seems odd to have only the top grills blacked.

I believe you are talking about the finishing rods?

You can buy the black ones if you don't like the silver. Or you can remove all of them, but then the mesh will have holes where the tabs were. Try checking tischer bmw for the black finishing rods - http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214672&chapter=&sectionids=0,53501&groupid=51817&subgroupid=9990&make=3&model=3%20Series%20Sedan&year=2008&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0

Email them to ask which one is the black ones. If I remember correctly they said the 328 part is supposed to be black while the 335 is silver.

A lot of people just vinyl over them, not sure what the outcome looks like though.

Otherwise you can order the finishing rods as suggested above.

Vinyling would be a good option.

The two side ones are easy to get out, but the middle one requires you to remove the bumper to get to the tabs. Or it could be the other way around, either way, you will probably have to remove the bumper if you want to go that route.

The other option is to use plasti-dip or whatever it is. Basically what others have done is take a bottle of black spray paint, emptied the can of spray paint into a container, painter taped the mesh around the finishing rods, take a brush and give it several coats of paint and let it dry.

Search it on e90post.com and you should be able to find the thread I'm talking about.

Tischer is such an awesome place for parts but they dont ship to Canada. All three pieces cost 15 bucks total shipped anywhere in the states. Know anyone down there?
