whats the point of buying a lancer then turboing it? why not just buy a evo from the start and call it a day

Because the evo is like 30 more grand than a base lancer.

why turbo a lancer? and you can get either a ralliart or a base evo for the low 40's. lancers start around 25.

so why not save the money and just get the car that already has the turbo ? at least with those two cars you get awd

IMO building your own kit is better....

maybe i missed saying 'what about a:" in my post?

Thx for the opinions guys, im just debating if i should have 2 project cars as im getting an r32 gtr sometime soon, and believe me i used to work for mitshubishi till 3 weeks ago, and believe me evos and ralliarts aint worth their money, but thats just my opinion.

I agree with you. hence why i didn't go after one.

The r32 should be a fun toy. I would love one of those as a project car. maybe in a few years

I own a GTS lancer.. and yes its slow but I didnt have 40 grands to buy the evo and the ralliart wasnt out by then.. I wouldnt wanna spend 5 grands into a turbo setup (RRM price), that will require lots of maintance and you will lose the warranty... turboing the lancer is just not worthy

Boost kills the tranny.

Yea i think ill stick with the lancer as my winter car after all but turbocharging it would be something cool to do maybe later on in life if i still have it.

the tranny can hold to around 240whp without launching it and stripping gears, the clutch is the real weekpoint in lancers

Good call. I wouldn't even bother turbo'ing it.

Not putting a turbo in will give you at least $5000 to put towards your skyrine instead, and if something breaks on your project/fun car, you always have your reliable winter one as back up.

Nothing worse then having 2 cars you can't 100% trust.
