Hey guys.

I'm in the market for a 99-02 M Coupe. Obviously, I'd like the 01-02 Coupes with the S54 engine, but I'd be willing to do the 99-00 if I can't get the price I want on the S54 cars.

I know about the import process (YAY NO DUTY on these cars) and the recall letters and crap.

This is going to be a DD, so maintenance is key, not mileage. I don't care about the mileage.

I've been looking on bimmerforums.com, eBay, cars.com and autotrader.com.

Am I missing any key sites?

You'd have more luck in the states than you would here. Are you particular about the color? Bimmerforums z3 forum has members often posting up craigslist ads for m coupes, as the forum likes to know when cars come up for sale since a lot of them are looking to buy one too.Mcoupebuyersguide.com is good too, it's maintained by a forum member. If you find one you like, you gotta act fast, because good deals are known to go in the same day, and Enthusiast Auto likes to snatch up all the cheap ones within an hour or two of them being posted. Check autotrader everyday, and be ready to drive across the us to get one back here.

I'd scour autotrader, craigslist, and roadfly everyday.

Yeah, I check that site every day, haha. I don't really care what colour, just no Dakar Yellow.

Only 690 of them in North America. They're very rare.

690 s54s in North America. There's over 2000 s52s here.

A ton of those are also way overpriced. I'd say fair value for a s54 is between $22k and $25k. But they do hold their value faiy well.

Yeah, still 2000 cars is pretty rare.

And there's no way I'd pay asking price for one... It's all about finding one that's been for sale for a while.
