On a red top sr20det what is a safe level of boost to run on stock injectors and fuel pump? My car has a fmic and a 3 inch exhaust. Thanks

If its with a stock t25, you wont make any power over 12 psi. Your stock injectors can basically put out to a max of around 230 CRANK horsepower, which is around 200 whp.

if you have a t28 s14 turbo, you can do around 10 psi tops, and thats pushing it.

ya i have a stock t25 turbo...so if i put the boost up to 12 psi that wont be a problem?

Nope. I ran 13s on my stocker at 12 psi lol

Here's my question, at what point do you need to upgrade to a Z32 maf?

I won't bother increasing boost till I at least get a fmic anyways.

and why is the t28 s14 only good for 10spi?

Thanks sr20s14zenki! As for the z32 maf I personally don't think there is much point in that unless you are going for big power.

Yea, as long as it can handle up to 12psi, I can't see myself going any higher than that...

The s14 t28 is good for more. Like I said the stock injectors will support a safe power delivery of 230 crank horsepower. At 10 psi you are there. If you upgrade injectors and tune it's good higher. I made 250 whp at 15 psi on a t28. You need to upgrade the Maf when you go over 250 whp as the stocker not only causes a bottleneck in flow, but also runs out of resolution. The z32 Maf is calibrated up to 500 hp worth of airflow. My z32 Maf at 365 whp is only on 15 of 20 on my scale ;)

Psi btw is kind of redundant to power production. Its merely an expression of pressure. Its flow you need to worry about. Example : a t25 at 12 psi will make around 220 crank horsepower . A t28 at that same boost will
Make 250. Why? Because it's a bigger compressor and thusly flows more

lots of people get that confused.

I think that T28 on my car made 251.7WHP and 278WTQ on 13.5psi on a stock downpipe from what I remember, which was surprising. I had a Z32 MAF, and 600CC JECS injectors which never got over 56% duty cycle on that tune.

I think it was 15 psi. Forget man haha. Long time

I thought it couldn't run 15psi because the downpipe was limiting it? I think it was 13.5-14psi then dropping to 12 further up the revs because of the downpipe. I was mostly surprised about the power vs stock downpipe though. I can't remember though, I gave the dyno sheets to the guy who bought the car, I never should have sold it  .
