Yeah, lots call them j-tubes. They work for drone, but add quite a bit of weight and the aesthetics leave a lot to be desired. Most factory exhausts have this theory in the mufflers now, especially with cylinder deactivation.
It's not the only way to accomplish the desired drone reduction, but it's possibly the easiest.
Good video though.
