Try the Calgary Sports Car Club www.cscc.ab.ca Solo (Autocross), Rally, Road Course Racing, Winter Rallycross and more. Mostly competition stuff - not much into the show scene. We have several RX7's in the club - I used to drive one and have changed to a 323GTX Check it out! Shawn

Since we are on the subject of car clubs, I am proud to announce that the Italian Car Club of Calgary is forming. We have our own forum at exotic rides.com and a web page in the works. Once more happens I will post it. Cheers, Warren ( President for now )

That is until the Italan cars show up, then you are just sauerkraut. :)

Like what, a fiat? an old alfa romeo? Not like ferrari's are gonna rock local car club anytime soon, it is safe to say the germans are king of the local car scene.
Calgaryscorpion
No I din't think so. You for got Maserati, Lancia ( What I own ), Innoceti ect. Plus a Fiat Strada looks way better than a Golf ever could. :poosie: But the bottom line is any European car looks better than a rice burner ever could. In fact there all copies of the European stuff. Japan can't come out with any thing original. It is amazing how the S2000 copies the BMW, the NSX the Ferrari, the MR2 the Bertone X1/9, The Civic the Ford Focus, Should I go on? Any one who is reading this, this poke is just for fun. Don't get your nikers in a knot.

ummmmm, thanks for the news flash. the japanese have been taking existing products and improving on them since they began to industrialize in the 17th century. There is nothing wrong with italian, german, british, japanese, american cars. It is up to the buyer to make thier choice.

Merkur
I agree with ZorroAMG ...German cars leading the way :)

Well I guess imitation is the best form of flattery. It would be interesting if the Japanese would come out with something on their own. (Have an identity.) :dunno:

True enough but most of those cars got their start from copying the European stuff. The RX7 from the 924, the 300zx started as the Fairlady which looked like a Triumph, we can't forget the EVO looking like a FIAT 131 or a Jetta in fact the Datsun 510 was a blatant rip off of the Fiat131. But I am just sturring you guys up all in fun, it's cool to watch other enthusiast defend what they love and are involved in. You don't see that kind of drive in people any more. I look forward to meeting some of you at various events this summer. Cheers guys, Warren

ok yes euro cars are great, we got that point. BUT...how can one company make a car so different in appearance that it won't look like another companies car??? stop your whining about how great euro cars are, and how everyone copies them. I drive a Merkur, thats a german car, from what your saying is that if it has a resemblance to something else they must have copied, odd enough i'm always asked about the SAAB that i drive....hmmm, did another german company copy another german company, didn't think so.

Hey the XR4's are a neat car, I was going to buy one for my second car but I got a good deal on my Focus. I think those cars are one of Ford's best kept Secrete's you can make them stupid fast with little $$.
