For most companies, they allow their employees to take courses on various topics around the city, or even fly you out to Edmonton if necessary. A lot of the time these courses are also paid for by your company. These courses could be as little as a day long, or they could be a week or two.

This thread is meant for people in the industry who are looking to take courses that will be useful in their career.

People who have taken such courses and found them useful, please post them in this thread so it would give others some insight.

Can somebody give a review of EPIC? I have not taken any courses from them but they have been spamming me relentlessly for a decade by direct mail. Are they legitimate? Are they good? great? horrible? Their web page says all the right things but I do not know anybody that has taken a course through them.

I did one course through them. They are legit. I think they usually fly in the instructor and set up the class at the hotel at the airport.

Worth it or not, hard to tell you. It was ok for me but I didn't pay for it. :)

APEGGA Puts on all sorts of seminars and what not.

Also SPE puts on a lot of varying classes. I have taken quite a few and for the most part they are pretty well done.
