2013 MR2 Updates

The MR2 car club has been pretty silent lately.
What's everyone working on for the 2013 driving season?

I'm sure I know most of the mods going on and have been contracted to do a few for some of the members on here. But they can list the updates/upgrades and mods, if they choose.

Feel free to post up the new things or maintenance for your cars.

I'll kick this off with a first reply, even though you already know what's going on since you're doing most of it haha. This is for everyone else.

Mods this year include

CT27 Turbo
3" Downpipe from TCS
94+ centre panel (just finished this a few weeks ago, pics below)
Boost controller/ gauge/ fuel cut from TwosRus
Probably going to need some new rear brake rotors and pads

Driving plans for the MR2 this summer include a trip up Going to the Sun road in Montana hopefully.

Hi,

I don't post here much but I've been a member for more than 2 years here and always loved the MR2 once I rode passenger in Jun's wide body MR2 back in 2008 MR2 meet.

I currently own a 91' LHD mr2 equipped with gen III that I bought last year and it didn't quite look like what it is today. Things that i'm upgrading this year are:

-Wheels
-Coil-overs
-Seats
-Nardi steering wheel (have to install still, thanks Rhys!)
-Exhaust? I'm looking for a Garage Fukui Departure II, I currently have Berk and willing to trade it + cash.
-Tuning maybe?
-Many more

Yeah FCUK is a very close friend of mine and I bought it from him. Yup i know about the wheels lol, Working on finding some new once. Hopefully within the next month or so

Where did the car originally come from? My guess is Nor-Cali.

ya it was cali, i remember that he had a ton of issues getting it to run and even an engine swap before he got it back to canada i think. he paid a ton of cash for it too, like 17k, but back then that wasnt too bad considering what was done to it.

Who had issues getting it to run and engine swap? not FCUK the engine swap was done well before he bought it

edit: Ohh I know who you were talking about... I think it was a guy named Cody. Had a red MR2 he imported. Motor blew in 100kms and ChicoRaceWorks was nice enough to work all night to get him going again and I think put him and his dad up at his house for the night.

I brought mine back from North Cali and only issue I had was border patrol. Hours spent there in a holding cell. Not fun. Then they said I could leave but the car was staying... long story. Eventually got the car and was on my way.
But I have since blown the original motor and have put in a fully forged one and many more power upgrades.

Just the car has similar bodywork done to it and the NR gauges seemed to be on all the Cali cars.



Driven seems to be coming up too soon this year. I won't have time to get there. Especially if I'm tuning up 300zx's MR2 and a few other's cars. I guess I could limp there on stock 440 injectors.

thats exactly it man, i realized after that it was a red one. anyways, fuck you MR2 owners. why cant i have everything i want? i miss all of my cars ive sold :cry:

Got my head off. new valves, springs, retainers. Should be a really smooth running quick car after this.

Picked up my second AW11 at the start of this year. It's a 89 JDM SC sitting on 80,000kms.
(sorry bout the phone camera picture planning on doing some better quality shots later in the season.)

So far i got the muffler swapped out to quiet her down a bit, and other then that been spending my time doing the basics oil change, coolant flush, mtf change , supercharger oil change, some basic cleaning, and picked up some stock teardrop wheels.
On the to do list:
-Decal replacement
-Repaint some of the black trim
-Gas lid prop
-front and rear sway bars
-Prothane Urethane Bushings
-Possibly take a look at shock and strut upgrade as well.
