Anyone know who originally owned this?

Hey Guys,

Long shot, but figured that someone who puts this much money into a car must be part of the mr2 club.

Im looking right now at purchasing this MR2, but would like to talk to the original owner (he was the one who did all the mods) to get a better feel of what it could need. Im supposed to pick her up on Sunday.

whp? no no no lol... "300HP TURBO WITH BOOST" Its likely more since hes running a turbo WITH boost as opposed to vacuum i suppose...

they obviously put 25k into it back in 1998. its going to be pretty hard to find the original owner. how much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking?

maybe post whats done to it and im sure between the lot of us, we can tell you whether its 300whp or not and other things you wanna know.

Good catch! Haha. It's probably stock gen2...Hell if it's anything gen2 I'd b willing to bet it's not even past 250whp

I've got some engine pics, though they are dreadful. I haven't picked it up yet... I don't like the fact that he cant answer really any of my questions. He said it was rebuilt 20k ago, but doesn't know by whom etc...

As far as 300whp, I'll post up a list of parts when I go to look at it, but its still running a standard ct-26 so I don't know how believable that is. Id guess just intakes, exhaust, suspension, and boost controller.

I agree on the rims, whoever thought that was a good idea should be smacked upside the head.

Im looking at 7k, what are your guys thoughts? - too much? I like the fact that its LHD, but even so.

Edit: He did tell me the paint job was 9k. haha so i suppose its only 14k put in?

7 would be a fair price assuming it's in good condition and runs well.

For 9k I would expect the engine bay and frunk to paint patched without question. I would keep looking for 7000 UNLESS there is absolutely 0 rust then it's up to your tastes.

Looks like a JDM engine swap with the sea salt brine on the intake manifold but I can't really see the motor at all.
