New to the truck game and found out that truck tire depth is different than cars...

Heard that while a car is 11/32" new, a truck tire would be 16/32", is that right?

im pretty sure that would depend on the tire. ie: every tire will be slightly diferent...

Dunlop Grantreks - 31.0 x 10.5 R15. Brand new tread depth - 15/32. Obviously depends on the tires, mine at M+S but not like actual full Mud tires.

21/32 - wow!!! What type of tire?

M/T's 20/32nd is about right. Highway comfort tread 16/32 is new. There is no set rule.

I you look at a 'E' load tire for a HD truck it will be significantly deeper than a light truck tire with the exact same tread pattern. They're all different.

LT rated truck tires have deeper thread than P rated truck tires

I don't think that's a requirement for LT tires. They generally have thicker side walls so they can support more weight. That doesn't really have anything to do with the thread depth.

My Nitto Trail grapplers are 21/32, 10 ply. after almost 30,000kms i would be surprised if they are below 17/32
