So I got my old man a new watch and got a hand me down omega seamaster professional in return. it looks amazingly easy to use however i cant figure out for the life of me what the dial at the 10 o'clock position does. i spin it but nothing happens? i tried googling it but i have no idea what to type in. Also what's the difference between the seamaster and seamaster professional??

is that it?

Left subdial is your seconds hand.

Bottom subdial is your hour totalizer and right subdial is your second totalizer for the chronograph.

What most people think is the seconds hand is not actually the seconds hand - it's the chronograph seconds hand.

haha, yes. My head exploded thinking about this. Maybe 10 o'clock is actually 9 o'clock. Or perhaps 2 o'clock and the dial that can be spun is actually the start/stop button for a chrono or the screw down for it?

EDIT: now that there's a pic, it's the helium escape valve, don't worry about it. Don't think it does anything on land.

It's a helium escape valve used for diving.

Edit: Beaten by ga16i and cos :nut:
Just be sure to keep both crowns screwed down.

Pull crown to position 3 (all the way out) adjust time.

Pull crown to position 2 (the middle) to adjust the date. Turn the crown counter-clockwise.

You are all wrong.

That watch is clearly the Bond 007 edition.

That crown is attached to an ultra fine, high tensile line of monofilament, that when deployed, has a slight electric current to sense when it is used as a garrotte, to deploy a larger shock (think stun gun) as it lops off a person's head.

Govern yourself accordingly.

Nice watch!

Tag Carrera, something something. Not really a big watch guy so don't know the names too well.

to be honest, mechanical watches are somewhat of a pain in the ass. not wearing it for a few days means i gotta adjust the time.

on a positive note though, this watch is bright as shit at night. makes me wonder how much radiation is being leaked to my balls when i scratch it at night.

but thanks for the compliment!
