Just curious if anyone uses these?

http://www.ironmind.com/ironmind/opencms/Main/captainsofcrush.html

I have been using a similar one for fun (its rated 250lbs) and I was finally able to close it yesterday. I do find myself doing a lot of grip strength stuff and it seems to help a lot in doing other exercises (not exclusively lifts).

Anybody have any routines or can speak of results from grip training?

I use a few different ones
Farmer carry with 85lb weights for distance
Bar Hangs
Fat Bar Pullups
Fat bar Deadlifts

I feel like they are helping on getting more reps at heavier reps on deadlift but right now I am limited in most of my lifts for other reasons.

diesel crew has some great grip stuff http://www.dieselcrew.com/tag/grip-training

Most other grip trainers don't compare to the CoC. 250lbs is between a 2.5 (237.5lbs) and a 3 (280lbs) and only around 150 people have been certified to close a #3 CoC

nice link.

I believe you in that other grip trainers don't compare, the ironminds seem to be the gold standard. But with that said, most of my friends who I've gotten to try cant really even come close to closing the 200lb one that I own, so I think these ones are decent substitutes. At least until I'm really ready to try for a "certification" lol

I'm a big fan of farmer carrys as well.. I also have been doing them with the 85s but I typically go up and down stairs with them. How/where are you doing far bar pullups?

Anything where you pinch a thick object or two plates together will be money!

Try doing the farmers walks on a flat terrain and try to up the weight

My other favs are
High rep deadlifts with dbl overhand
Kroc rows 20 reps+
DB Rows
Heavy shrugs

Bigggest thing is try not to ever use straps unless you are hella strong and doing acc work like Snatch low pulls, clean high pulls etc
