I'm thinking about getting this unit for my wife's van.

Pioneer AVICX950BH

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-X950BH

She likes the factory system, but really wants a GPS. The main features I'm looking for are of course the GPS, as well as being able to connect to the factory steering wheel controls, and backup camera. The rest of the stuff (iphone, USB, etc) are of course there too.

Anyone had any experience with that unit?

And, if I find some place to order it online (heard about onlinecarstereo.com but have never used it), is there somewhere in the city that you'd recommend installing it? I just can't do it in my unheated garage in this weather.

I'm seeing it for the same price at Visions and Best Buy, not sure what their installation is like.

Thanks

I would honestly stick with portable GPS, like a Garmin, or a TOMTOM.

1) Cheap, less than $200
2) most have life time map updates
3) Easily move from car to car.
4) Easier to use

Indash Pioneers Avics, are not user freindly, and the map updates cost $100 a pop...

I appreciate the advice, but I think this is the route I'm going to go. I have a portable unit in my car but I don't think that's going to work in my wife's van.

However, I'm still open to other units, or installation advice.

Connecting to the wheel controls needs an adapter, backup cam not sure.

For installer I recommend Mobile Solutions.
