love this game, hate how slow the upgrade process goes, im also at lvl 8 Town Hall. I personally think they fudged the clan part of this game, clan wars mean u fighting another clan by choice, not by the game randomly choosing what base u get to attack. I should be able to search a clan and attack any member within my lvl. Ive almost reached my breakup point with this game, its a great game but they fucked everyone past about lvl 5, u want upgrades u have to pony up actual cash in the game......wtf is that? I wanna save up 3,000,000 gold for a town hall upgrade, even if i maxed out all my defenses and walls(and im close to completing that) I still would never be able to reach 3,000,0000 gold due to being attacked every 12 hours, and all my gold/elixer mines are maxxed! It took me a week just to save up 800,000 elixer, id get to 700,000 elixer before bed and I wake up and Im down to 600,000 elixer........i got lucky and was left alone for 24 hours, enough time to finally save up the amount I needed.

My base. I've used a $15 iTunes gift card for gems, hard not to get impatient. Just gotta save one thing at a time and arrange your defences to protect that one thing. Cheapest thing for me now is 4.3M gold... and I'm keeping my builders busy.

Would be pretty sweet to be able to pick and choose who you attack... pretty devastating for the weak, but fun I'm sure.

Don't think you've built your base well if you keep getting attacked and can't save a couple mil. Have you upgraded your walls to lvl 6?

I've been playing a couple months, at TH 8 (lvl 54), I sit at about 1400 trophies and rarely get attacked. If you're patient with who you attack, you can get 800 elix pretty quickly.

I don't attack someone unless they have at least 300+ combined resources. Best attack I've ever had was 1.5M in resources.

Do you have your townhall inside your walls? Putting it outside is an easy way to pick up a lot of shieldtime without losing a lot of resources.

That does make trophy collecting more challenging I suppose.

Also, it sounds like your overall strategy is to rely on collectors/mines to build up your resources.

In my experience the best way to build up is to attack as often as possible. It does mean less shield time, but logging will block people from attacking you so activity is kinda like a shield in a way.

But like Cue said, it is good strategy to keep at least one resource in low supply, and move your other one into deep protection.

For instance, if I am collecting elixer for a troop upgrade, I might spend gold on walls as often as possible to keep my gold supply near zero so i am less appealing to attackers.

That said, maybe your base just looks like an easy target. Post up a shot and we can make suggestions.

Anyone want to rate mine? I am thinking about a complete overhaul, but for the most part people seem confused by my base, which is good.

You have to modify your base if you keep getting attacked.

What I do is:
-Take your TH to level 10. It will give you a lot more walls and towers to defend your base. For example: its better to have 6 Archer Towers level 6 than having 5 Archer towers level 7.

-Leave your TH outside. People will attack you as soon as your shield goes down and take it your TH down. This will give you a 12 hour shield instanly.

-Focus on attacking instead of saving ( way to slow to save )


-Always have your mortars at the max level your TH allows you to. After all 3 mortars are upgraded, then upgrade wizzard towers

ive gone back and fourth with TH in and out, im still undecided on which one i like, I enjoy my trophy count but its costing me too many attacks right now and it might go back out, I will grab a pic of my base sometime this weekend, sadly i waited too long on walls, they definately need work

I strongly disagree here. It is better to have more weak buildings than less strong buildings, but loot bonuses and handicaps make it harder for you to steal big, and makes you more appealing to raiders.

IE if you, a weak level 10 wants to raid a level 8 guy, you are only able to get half of the loot that someone else level 8 would be able to get when raiding the same guy. Conversely, as a level 10, you are vulnerable to having more stolen from you than you would as a level 8.

I've kept my TH as low as I could along the way, maximize everything else, and prey on guys who IMO upgraded there town halls prematurely.

Well there has to be a balance. Id say you should have TH 10 if you are level 70+. The loot thing doesnt really affect as much really. Every time I attack I loot 150+ gold as a minimum unless I lose in the attack. So you can still be TH level 10 and attack THs level 8 and 9 and make big money.

The key is the balance and the trophie count as well. If you keep your trophies low you wont get attacked and if your TH is outside, you will have a shield all the time. The last time they stole 100k + of my town was literally around 5-6 weeks. It works lol

that's what I did, for months I kept my trophies under 400, my TH on the bottom corner with no defense.
some were more interested on attacking my TH than my resources.

You might. It usually takes me around 20 tries to find a good base to attack so thats 20k gone. Thats why I look for bases with lofs of gold.

How fast can you usually find a good base to attack? I feel like it does take me a bit but I upgraded my TH decently fast so im not sure how it was with level 8 or 9 TH.

Edit: I raised my trophies to hit Crystal league 2. So the victory bonus pays for the 20k of finding a base and with the TH outside I always have a shield so it works ok.

Yeap its all about your trophies. You have to raise them. I used to farm at 1100 for the longest time and after a few months I couldn't find any more decent bases. What level are you? Im now level 91 at 2200ish trophies and it works pretty good.

Open to Critique. I find the best farming is around 2000 cups. The only reason I progressed so much in the game without spending money is I had it running beside me during my entire masters program last year as I studied haha


I wont attack bases unless theres min 200k gold and elix. can normally get 1 million in a couple hours of play. Just wait till its 4 million or more to upgrade anything and it takes 2 weeks hahah

At 1700+ trophies, certainly less than 10 looks on average, maybe even as low as five. Another advantage of a lower level TH is that each of those looks is cheaper.

I'm a level 99 now, and try and keep my trophies between 1700 and 2100. Any higher and a lot of the looks are over my head, any lower and a lot of the looks have only like 40k of gold/elix available.

I'm usually upgrading 4 defensive buildings at a time... so am certainly weaker defensively than some others at my level. Got hit last night for 350k gold, even with practically zero elix and dark available. The guy came with hogs... as usual.

Ahh yea. Im level 91 and im upgrading stuff as well. Inferno towers kill hogs super fast. Place both of them in the center of your base as well as the clan castle. All I attack with is Hogs and healing spells and I can not win, in fact dont even bother if the clan castle is too far in that I cant get the troops out with my archers and if the Inferno towers are in the center.

I agree I think we should make a beyond clan. If we can have 10 people agree to join a beyond clan (including me so 9) I'm willing to leave my clan and make a beyond clan.

The trouble is I think most people are in clans with their friends (like me) and will hesitate to leave. My clan is just not growing though and I think a beyond clan would grow with some really good players and end up being a decent clan.

A lot of people neglect upgrading their troops in the lab, try to always keep them level maxed in there.

Protip: in early levels, use lots of wall breakers, giants and balloons. pretty much exclusively. Throw in a healer or 2 as well. Because the giants target defenses exclusively, they are great, and try to place the wall breakers and giants in such a way they attack air defenses first, once you get those down, send in the balloons, and watch havok develop.

Everyone races for dragons, but I so rarely use them.

My attacking forces usually look like:
6 wall breakers
2 healers
6-8 giants
5-6 Wizards
2 PEKKAS
1 golem
and then i usually fill in the rest with goblins and archers, or if I am going to go for trophies, I will usually grab 5 hog riders instead.

Spikers you in the clan? My attack strategy is generally 21 giants, 4 wall bombers 10 wizards, and then 50 archers. 2 heal 2 purple ones and a jump spell. That's pretty much it everytime. Sometimes a healer

Rest is barb and Archer to get clan troops out
1 heal spell and 2 rage spells

Hey beyond.ca clan, as I mentioned in the game chat, here are some war bases that I've encountered on my main account that have been pretty effective (for th9/th10)

I'm personally using the 2nd war base on my main and its held up for me pretty awesome in wars. Notice how central the clan castles are in all the bases shown here; the screenshots don't show the clan castle range but I can tell you for sure that you'll definitely have to penetrate into the base in order to lure out the clan castle troops.

Another thing is notice how there seems to be a middle ring of storages/barracks/collectors that surround the core of the base where your town hall/xbow/mortar/air defense sits. This area helps guard your core from getting targeted by giants/golems/hogs right away. Now it doesn't work every time (depend on how you get attacked) but when it does, giants for example, would end up walking around the perimeter of the base, allowing the core of your base (xbow, mortar, etc.) to just keep pummeling away.

FYI, screenshots above were taken BEFORE the last update where they nerfed hogs... but these bases still work pretty well IMO but this can be up for discussion.

I'll try and find some war bases for th8 and below that are decent but this could be challenging due to the smaller wall count.

I know I am not part of the forum clan, but I will still help where I can.

This is the current defensive layout I am using, and it has held up 7 of the last 10 real attacks against me. I am thinking I am going to try this layout for the clan wars, with a couple mods to tweak it.

Hey spikers, my only suggestion is to get those xbows up!

And IMO, your walls aren't THAT bad. I'm a near max town hall 9 and I'm only a wall level higher than yours. Walls get stupid expensive later on too.

As an example, I've seen a lot of town hall 9s camp with their maxed out bases just to upgrade their walls to level 8 or 9.... I think the opportunity cost of upgrading to town hall 10 to get inferno towers, extra dark elixir drill, extra collectors > completely maxing out your walls at town hall 9.

Does the Beyond.ca clan still need more members? My clan sucks. I donate about twice what I get, but there are a bunch of freeloaders in my clan who never give back. I'm not an advanced player though, I just started a few months ago and I'm only level 49, 1069 trophies at the moment.

Sure, but as a th8 I get attacked less by higher ths because of the penalty, plus when it is time to upgrade, my base will be much stronger because of it.

Plus, if you don't max as you go, you probably never will.
