Spotted: Simpson Design Italia

Walking near 17th with my buddy yesterday, and we saw a car neither of us have ever seen or heard of before. Simpson design Italia. I called right away that it was a Miata underneath, and sure enough, Google confirmed it. (the doorhandles gave it away)

edit: The entire interior was redone too, guage cluster, shifter, etc. The car seemed really quite well done.

its just an extravagant body kit for a miata... so if you have a miata registered in AB... you wouldnt even need an inspection :eek:

You'd be surprised how quickly shit adds up when you're pricing out a kit. By the time you find a suitable car, and build it properly, it'll likely be $50k.

That car belongs to Gord of the Canadian Rockies Miata Club. That thing is fantastic. He's also got a Ferrari 308 too but the BRG Italia is nicer IMO. It's got all these nice little touches in the interior like Revlimiter gauges and window switches, which I wish my own car had, and IIRC it's supercharged as well. He even races the thing, I'm pretty sure. Real nice guy, real nice car. :thumbsup:

And like Tik-Tok said, those kits aren't cheap even if the base car is just a Miata.
