Hello,

I am looking to use a video editing program and not sure which is good. I have a windows 8 computer and I don't mind spending a bit of money. Looking for something pretty simple to use as well. Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks.

I have heard good things about premier elements. Can probably get a demo to!

I have used iMovie and go pro studio in the past both work well.

For small stuff you can use Kino, it's free.

I also use Sony Vegas pro, though if you are doing it more for dun, I have heard the non pro versions are really good too.

I had a really hard time learning adobe premiere, so I tried Vegas and I found it much easier. I have also used a free editor that comes with windows that was pretty good if you are not super serious about video.

Blender. 3D modelling program that actually has a decent video editor in it. Although initial setup is a little tricky.

I've been spending a lot of time filming on my iPhone and editing using iMovie right on the phone. Did our entire Euro vacation that way, didn't even bring a camera with me on the trip. It's nice to go back to the basics, and the results so far have been pretty impressive. I get to focus on the flow of the "story", which IMO is more visible to the viewer than color grading effects, fancy transitions or other features offered by desktop editors.
