Well I have a gtx 750 and was out shopping and grabbed a gtx 770 thinking it was be a good upgrade. I really only play 1 game and that is CS:GO but I do us autocad/inventer/solidworks a lot. Now was this really worth the upgrade cause my understanding the 750 is still a pretty good card. Wouldn't mind some people chiming in

Not enough difference that I would have done it.

Some fairly significant boosts but not a whole lot as said, you could've gotten the lower priced SC'd 4gb 970 for around that much iirc:

According to PassMark, the 770 offers (on average) double the performance :dunno:

GeForce GTX 770 6,174

GeForce GTX 750 3,263

In real world usage you would see very little gain at all. Especially in something like CS:Go or Autocad.

Yea true, running older games at max FPS etc. wont make much difference. If the OP upgraded games to something really serious, then a difference would be much more noticeable.

The benchmarks simply measure maximum performance potential.

And from my understanding cs:go/steam is more CPU dependent then actual GPU. I like the sound of the upgrade but I can't justify it full yet.

Also note that the GTX 970 is sold out Everywhere in canada

memory express gets 970's sporadically in small quantities. I lucked out and called in to the NW store last week to see when they would get stock and a few minutes before calling the NE store got 8 and the online store got 8. I called and reserved one for pickup at the NE location. 4 hours later when I picked it up, all NE and online stock was gone. Just keep your eyes peeled.

But again I can't justify worth keeping the 770 let along pick up the 970. I don't play many games and when I do its the standard counterstrike that I've played for years
