If I was going to buy one though, I'd take the stormer just for the range.

Hate to go up the hill when there is no juice left. Can you recharge the battery by going in circles in the parking lot or pedal with the bike on a stand?

didnt know you were buying the EU regulated version

but with this you can have a waaay lighter bike and your actual top speed could be much higher since all you would need is an app to bypass the REGULATED top speeds (US version is 20mph)

I can do 45km/h sprints on my roadbike... If this thing went 70-80km/h, I'd be interested.

$1k vs what? $5k for this 50lbs beast? it multiplies your pedal speed... so unrestricted you'd probably do 60km/h+ easy. plus you could put it on any bike you wish so you could have a commuter and a mountain bike and be a lazy prick anywhere you want :poosie:

Range: 40~56km
Top Speed: 32km/h

Plus it looks pretty lame

again, thats a restricted top speed so it can be classed for its markets... your overall bike weight is going to be much lower too, you dont even really need a rear disc brake either since it regenerates while braking which will give you extra stopping power. paint it black for stealth look, 3rd party app for higher top speed and party on

They look nice but seems expensive since you can convert most bikes with a 48V motor which will do 45kmh for around $1k with battery.

I'm shocked those ones are 60lbs, my Surface 604 weighs that much and it's a beast.

Anyone who knocks ebikes needs to get with the times; they are huge outside of North America and most importantly are a blast to ride.

These are toys, the bikes OP posted are real and more practical modes of transportation. I've seen a few on the paths and they are annoyingly loud.

For $2500ish + bike, you could have dual motor monster :burnout:

The methods for obtaining the rated ranges can vary greatly depending on manufacture, so there might not be as big a difference as you think.

You don't need 45 km/h for pathways, 32 is plenty.

I would rather one of these. Heavy but also near unlimited miles

Honest review on the Specialized turbo:

For my test ride (at 190 pounds) pedaling hard, the maximum speed I could achieve was 25-MPH. I am guessing without pedaling (if I could go throttle only) this bike would not break 20-MPH. So not only is this bike not the fastest ebike currently available, it might not be as fast as the average $2000 ebike which is a disappointing reality. USA customers appreciate fast bikes, and will be let down if they spend $6000 to buy the “fastest ebike on the planet” only to have their downtube blown off by a $1000 home built bike. Check out an example of a 45mph home built bike based on a Specialized mountain bike frame.

I was waiting for the Copenhagen wheel too and was almost ready to pre-order ……that was back in 2013. I see they've targeted Spring of 2015. :nut: In theory it looks great, rumour in the e-bike community is they were/still struggling with heating issues and battery range.
