Don't know about wheel offset - help me

OK, so my Audi Allroad has the following wheel offset:

Wheel size 17x7.5 ET25 - 225/55-17 tires

Does anyone know if I can use these rims? Here are the details on them:
5X112 very good condition / high positive offset (+40) 8.5 inch width

Wider wheel with higher offset almost guarantees they'll rub on the strut since they'll be sunken in by 15mm and are 10 mm wider.

Depending on what the distance is to your strut is to the current wheel. You'll be pushing the rim closer to the inside by about 30mm.

There is quite a few online calculators out there.

On my allroad, I had +35, 8.5" rims, with 20mm spacers and it still rubbed very slightly when I was at the turn stop in both directions, and hitting a bump.

+40 is a definite no-go without a spacer.

Still have them if you're looking for a set of 19's
(sold the car a year ago, they're just taking up garage space)

so it would appear that the further away from ET25 I go, the more I have to space it? IE and ET45 would require a 20mm spacer, a ET40 would be 15, etc?

BUMP. My first time considering adapters, but the Volvo has weird bolt pattern and ET25 (WTF).

If my current wheels are 6.5x16in with 25mm offset, the adapters are 32mm thick, what should be optimal offset and width for the wheel in order to get a final offset fitment of 15 or 20mm and final width of 7.5/8 or 7/7.5 staggered?
