I'll go like every year, but it'd be great if they started including other new models. Ford Focus RS, etc. Including the same cars you can see on any lot can be dull.

Although the show is underwhelming year after year, i will most likely still attend. Not a bad way to burn a few hours sitting in and looking at a large variety of vehicles that i cant be bothered to view at the various dealers.

Pretty much the only reason to go. If you're thinking of getting a new vehicle in the next few months, it's a good spot to get a first impression of what you're looking for without having to drive around from lot to lot.

Overall I think it was a good show, better than other years. Lots of AMGs on the floor and a good selection from all the other brands. Was looking at brands for myself and also econo for my gf.

Lexus had their new concept Q80 car with some hottie posing for pics.

Mazda fit/finish is really impressive for the price point, like really impressive. The Nissan Versa was also very nice. Honda Fit was pretty good but not as nice. All felt very spacious, likely the Fit here being the top. Hyundai Accent was really good too, almost forgot about that. For econo buyers, it's a close market but on feel alone and looks, I'd be look at Hyundai or Mazda the closest, which surprises me because I would have previously written off those brands as mediocore.

I was looking at wagons primarily for myself. Lexus CT200h was great but after stepping out of the RC350 it felt much cheaper. VW 5-door golf and their new sportwagon (same thing just slightly bigger I'm told) had pretty good finish and a great interior design, lots of space which I like. Again the Mazda was surprising here. I was speaking with a guy who had previously owned many BMWs and Mazdas over the years, working at a Mazda dealership but has been retired for a few years. He was actually saying he cross-shops those brands all the time based on their strong driveability. Looked at Volvo as well but I can't tell the difference between them all as I don't know their lineup and they all look very simliar. Fit/finish is fantastic but out the door at 55K+ it's not something I can afford. Only Audi wagon was the A4 Allroad and it's beyond my pricepoint. Also surprised on the lack of leg room in the back here.

Those idiots signing you up for prizes are all out in full force. When one chick came up to me asking about it at the VW I said no like 5 times but I do have a car question! She's like, "oh, well I don't know anything about cars but I'll find someone."

That is their job, they are hired exclusively to do that. They also are not just signing you up for garbage.... for the VW one if you beat the driving game you do legit get a Futureshop, Starbucks, or iTunes gift card. If you are a current VW owner you will also get free movie tickets, all delivered to your email inbox.

If they do send you junk you can always unsubscribe, as per Canadian law. Not sure why people get so worked up about stuff like that....

That is because the show is put on by the dealers and not the manufacturers. The big shows like Geneva, Detroit, New York, LA, etc. are attended by the manufacturers.

Many of the cars you see in Calgary are provided by the dealers. That is why the more expensive cars are usually locked or roped off.

Dealers don't have access to the RS or GT40, they can only pull what is on their lot.

There are some cars that travel the Canadian Circuit, but very few.

As if Honda is releasing the HRV in the next month or two and they don't bring one to the show. Typical boring ass Honda. Mazda brought a RHD CX-3 from Japan, Honda HRV nothing.

Also really like the Jeep Renegade. Would be a perfect replacement for the Element.

Spent a bunch of time looking at the Camaro, Challenger & Charger and Mustang. Dodge had the Hellcat Charger & Challenger there although the Charger was on stage, Challenger was open to sit in. I REALLY don't like the 2015 Chargers. It looks like the big brother to the Dart. Why would Dodge take their family hot-rod and turn it into a bigger version of an econo-box? A big fail for Dodge there.

Rearward visibility is terrible in everything but the Charger (no surprise there) but I wish GM would have brought a convertible Camaro. They only had a ZL-1 Coupe available to sit in. The Mustang didn't do anything for me. I also spent a bunch of time in MB / BMW / Audi and to be honest, I was very underwhelmed especially considering the price tags. The new Nissan Titan is even uglier in person that it is online but the powertrain has me intrigued. The 2015 F150 looks nice but nothing special. The new Ram / GM 1500 offerings while nice, not a massive jump forward from my 2010.

All in all, nothing I would spend my money on right at the moment.

I think the same thing about the Charger. They actually had that car looking pretty mean, and then they go and put that front end on it. It doesn't look like it matches the rest of the car since to me and the little bit I've looked at it, it doesn't look like they changed anything else.

The girl by that car was chatting my dad up so hard she even asked for his business card. He was going on about how Dany Bahar got fired and Jean-Marc Gales wants to return to lighter weight cars and how he's worried prices are gonna keep creeping up, and then when she asked what he drove and he mentioned the Caterham she just gave him a blank stare. It was quite funny.

I think I've sold my mom on Macan, she's fed up with her Crosstrek.

Some highlights for myself.

- Nismo 370z has one of the best seats, steering wheel, and shift knob out of any car there! Really nice low driving position. And only 50k? Not to shabby.

- Fiesta ST..... I thought I would really like this car but, no lol. The clutch is way to close to the brake pedal, also the seating position is not good. The stitching on the steering wheel is super abrasive I thought. Unimpressed with this car. I know its cheap, but this is suppose to be top gear car of the year?

- Dodge Challenger hellcat. Interior is not to bad! Clutch and shifter felt very good. Not to bad for the price point IMO. No hard plastics on the interior. Fit and finish isn't the best but it is ok. About what I expected.
