I guess depends where it was hit, my oem bmw wheel was bent right near the spoke and andre at alloy wheel repair couldn't get it perfect again. so i have to buy a new one.

i'd personally not try and repair a cast wheel (they basically just bend it back) it would become pretty weak.

hit up kijiji, you own the most popular truck in the world. lots of wheels for it on there

Replace for a bent wheel.

On a side note i'd like to get some rash repaired on a summer rim before i switch over to save some hassle. Where is the best place in town to do this?

AB Wheel Repair as well?

I would take it in and see what their opinion is on if it can be structurally be repaired safely. If they give any sort of "hmmm.. Yeaaah!?" I would replace it.

And I think your forks just got over compressed temporarily so the seals should be fine. Seen it happen on trailered bikes that were strapped down too much but keep an eye on it.

Give Joe @ Kwicksilver a call and ask him what can be done about it. He does exceptional work and gives good advice. But if nothing can be done then it's best to replace it.

Maybe you knocked one of the weights off on impact too?

The rim is cast aluminum, which is still pretty malleable (alot more so then cast steel, and FAR more so then Cast Iron which isn't the least malleable). It should be fairly easy to repair without any noticeable structural damage, at least on such a minor bend. I wouldn't worry about replacing it, Id spend the $100 or so at Kwiksilver to get it trued, then in the event its still flawed, find one on ebay potentially, as they've been making FJ1200's for a good while, and perhaps someone is selling their stock rims that they've replaced with aftermarket ones.

Id just try getting your rim re-trued, then have it balanced, it honestly should be good to go at that point. In the event it isn't, I can remove the rim and swap out the bearings, rotors and everything else myself to save you the "labor". The only thing I cant do (I dont have the tools to do so) is rebalance it.

^ Sure, who ever lol. Kwiksilver did a brilliant job on my Regal rims, so for $100 each rim, its hard to beat, but sure. Let me know if you need a hand with the work. Its not a huge job at all.

^ That's not a hard fix either. I could have done that for you but kind of late now.

without looking at it, its most likely just a V lip seal with a garter spring, its quite straight forward to replace. That said seal is just covered by the rubber shroud that goes around the circumference of the fork. If you were to remove that shroud you'd see the spring pressing the V lip seal against the shock. So both the actual V lip seal and the garter spring would need to be replaced.

Its best to replace the garter seal at the same time, as the spring loses can its strength over time and cant compress the lip onto the body of the shock. What year is the bike? if its new enough, you can probably reuse it, but its like a $1 part, so may as well do both.

Ideally, it would be good to use a ratcheting strap (or two) to tie the bike to the roof of the garage, then just slide the shock out, to which you can then replace the seal. Its impossible to do while its in the triple trees obviously.
