Recommended buys (MY OPINION ONLY):

Homeworld: Remastered Collection ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/244160/ )

$15.50 CDN (60% off)

The game may have come out in 2000, but it was one of the BEST RTS games of the 2000's. Huge in scope with great story, the game redefined (for me, at least) the way that RTS's were made and played. The Remastered collection collects HomeWorld 1 and 2, as well as any expansions, updates them to play at up to 4K resolution, DirectX 10 graphics, and remastered music.

Darksiders Franchise Pack: Darksiders 1 and Darksiders 2 + All DS2 DLC ( http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18777/ )

$13.30 CDN

Fun action RPG, with the end of the world as the backdrop. Darksiders 1 plays a little better than Darksiders 2, in my opinion, but the sheer amount of mayhem you can wreak is giggle-inducing. Think of it, if you need a comparison, as a very casual Devil May Cry.

Also, Liam O'Brien as the voice of War, and Mark Hamill as the voice of The Watcher, means that the voice acting in the game is epically good. Take a look (and listen):

X-COM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack (Game + Xpac + DLC) ( http://store.steampowered.com/sub/37429/ )

$10.99 CDN

The modern reimagining of the classic X-COM game. Multiple hours of fun :D Turn based, unit by unit movement and attack style with optional perma-death for your characters. Really gets you involved if you spend 15 hours perfecting a character, then take a risk and lose them on a mission. If you like tactical strategy and unit based command, give this one a look

Tomb Raider GOTY edition (what is called the Definitive Edition on consoles)

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/49783/

$7.99

You'd be silly to not pick this up at $8. Very fun, great reboot of the franchise, and plays very well on PC. In fact, it is considered a benchmark for many as how to properly optimize what started as a console game for PC. It FEELS like it was programmed for PC on the PC version, which is tough to do

Homeworld is so good but I suck so bad at it :D

I picked up World In Conflict at 40% off. Company of Heroes was the same price at 50% off. $5.49 for either.

EDIT: So I went to buy Tomb Raider off of Vagabond's recommendation but it turns out it was already in my library, in fact I purchased it nearly 1 year ago. Freaking steam sales

Got Metro Redux. Always wanted to replay the first, and never played the second.

May get borderlands prequel today.

Almost bought borderlands today, but I will never play it, way too many games to play currently
Cities skylines is an amazing city builder though and everyone should buy it
War of mine is also great, very good atmosphere in the game
Prison architect is a great EA game, tons of fun making your own prison. Final version is coming out this year iirc, has been early access for a while and gets a big update every month
Mordor is also a great game. Combat style like newer batmans and the graphics are great. Very cool nemesis system with the AI coming after you and orcs moving up in rank based on orcs who die.

Which Borderlands? I have 1 and 2 that I have been unsuccessfully trying to give keys away for free (extras from humble bundle).
Seems like everyone already owns them.

Pre-sequel, I already have the first two and never played them much.
