Well summer vacation was delayed by a few months, but I think we're back on track.

We got a new trailer and replaced most of our stuff. So we decided on a short trip to test everything out. Went down to Lundbreck Falls for a week. I can't lie...the drive down was a bit tense. The wife was in tears and white knuckled as we hit a few wind gusts down close to Crowsnest Pass. But everything pulled quite nicely. We were all still a little gun-shy.

Absolutely love the trailer and MY biggest love is my new camp kitchen. The wife's is having a pantry now, instead of putting all our dry goods on the top bunk like we did with the old trailer.

So here's a few pics from the trip:

Looks great Dave, glad to see you are back in the saddle again. Hope you and the wife can release that anxiety over time, I know what it's like after a bad accident.

If you do find sway being an issue in areas down there with high cross-winds, slowing down even 10 km/h can help a lot. I'm sure you know that, but it's a tip people seem to forget quite often.

While I'm on my soapbox, reminder to all you trailer folks to take your time setting up the Weight Distributing hitch and adjusting your load before you head out. It makes a huge difference in how the rig handles. I'm a bit obsessive about this.

Anywhoo, good looking trailer, :hitit:

Best wishes, Mr. Slow.

Thanks, Slow (and everyone else).

Yeah we took it slow. Fastest we got going was just a tad over 100. We've got a decent tow vehicle (3/4 ton, 4x4 Suburban) but not a diesel. So going up a long hill we slow down quite a bit. But we just chug along with the Semi's and old farmers, and I didn't notice any large line of frustrated drivers behind us lol.

I always like to drop into the self-weigh scales and check all my axle weights on every trip.

I have to admit, when at home, I pretty much never lift a finger when it comes to cooking. My wife is an awesome cook. But when we go camping, just something comes out of me...I do pretty much all the cooking. She preps stuff inside and then hands it to me. Our biggest bill by far, when camping, is the grocery bill!

Absolutely LOVE the stove! Three burner Camp Chef with the full-sized griddle. I was going to get the BBQ topper for it, but held off. I didn't miss it one bit. Cooked EVERYTHING on it, as you can see. Non-stick and cleans up easily.

Yeah, dunno what Shadow sees in it, but she loves looking for boulder-sized rocks under about a foot or two of water. She'll "paw" at them to bring them a little closer, then pick them up and take them out of the water. Then comes back for more. It's hilarious.

I see that Camp Chef unit every time I'm at Costco and I constantly have to stop myself from buying it, haha. Such a good price for that cooker.

*Nod*. Just couldn't pass up $199!! That same stove at Wholesale Sports is $339. BBQ's galore: $389.

So I bought the Costco one, and then the griddle at WS for $184. I spent more than that on my old bbq, coleman stove, and griddle.

Also, you're running your windbreak for your stove inside out. The label goes on the outside. :P

LOL...ahh, thank you.
